UPDATED: JUL 19, 2011 (bottled) A restrained hef , when i drink hefewizen , which is all the time , i want its somewhat simplistic , but often flavoursome character traits to be vibrant. Banana esters are subtle ..clovey spiciness is subtle. Some vanilla on the finish. Pretty dull.

Test vom 22.9.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,8,8,7,7,8

500 ml bottle in Germany. Thanks to Shrubber85. Pours a darker amber with a nice white full head. Aroma is bananas, fruit, and hefe. Taste is a sharp strop hefe with some fruit and bananas. Palate is mellow and sometimes sweet. Not bad but not great either.

Bottle. Dark copper clouds, creamy off-white head. Christmas-spice aroma. Clove, rye-bread, banana, vanilla. Mellow mouthfeel, chewy enough body. Spices and caramel retronasal, a bit dust.

Quack-Duck (7911) - Down South, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2011
bottle from Landbierdealer. Cloudy brownish colour, large off-white head. Malty, wheaty, hints of fruit - but very shy fruity hints only. Wheaty flavours dominate. Good.

Darker than many hefes. Big, big head, but not big-as-in-infected head. Straight wheat all the way, brusque grain (wheat tanginess and dough) flavor, slightly sour and sweet, bready. Aroma grainy (bread) and peppery, and flowers, very natural. Quite good and fresh, from Piwoteka.

Bottled. Copper colour with big, creamy remaining head. Bit disappointing aroma of sewer, along with earth and caramel. The flavour is as estery as the classics, there are suggestions phenols (vague band aid) and notes of caramel and earth. There are a lot of banana esters that coats the mouth so nicely. Mouthfeel is big-ish, with sweet maltiness in the end. Not much tin or nutmeg, just plain estery. No bitterness. I found this to be a bit different from the other hefes - due to the caramel thing.

It’s unclear golden with a huge, creamy head, and the aroma has notes of wheat, fruit and yeast. The flavour is sweet with notes of fruit, yeast, wheat, light banana and the finish is spicy.

Bottle 500ml.
Unclear medium orange amber color with a large, creamy to frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, caramel, orange notes, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy to watery, carbonation is soft. [20091113]
