Quite cloudy. Straw colour with a thick head. The aroma is quite sweet - banana, some icing sugar and some nutmeg. Fairly fizzy. Some banana and sugar, but enough wheaty acidity in the finish to cut it.

Bottle (from Kachelofen, Bamberg): Suprsing smokey bacon notes in first taste. Dark muddy gold with a short white head. Nice caramel, banana and fruits, with a gentle, subdued bacon smoke edge. Interesting stuff!

Bottle. Nice banana, clove and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange brown color with moderate head. Musty wheat malt and clove flavor with light banana undertones. Hint of bitterness in the finish. Nicely drinkable - flavor is a bit bland.

Bottled from.. er.. Well, Germany I suppose. But no idea where I bought it from (how I caught it, found it or came by it, what stuff tis made of, whereof tis born, I am yet to learn). Actually, that’s wrong - I know what it’s made of and it was born in Zinrdorf. So let’s stick to the facts, Jack. Tea-with-the-teabag-and-a -little-bit-of-milk-in hazy brown, dirty-net-curtain-coloured slumping souffle head, fresh yeasty nose with just a touch of meatiness(?), itchy carbonation that gives the feeling in the mouth of a glass of lemonade tanked down just after you’ve spat out a mild bubblegum. If I could remember where I bought this, I’d go back and buy a case for the summer; an ideal weizen for those who find weizens too weizenny.

Heazy yellow colour, full foamy head, much fruity hinds like banana, peach, citrus, some grain, basement aromas, and even some cheese, nice one but not fore the calories.

Bottled@Pelikan. Deep hazy golden colour with big creamy white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, earth and quite big on the malts as well as wood. Flavour is strawberries, wheat, yeast and some citrus. Rather nicely balance.d Big berryish and malty aftertaste.

Bottled. Copper colour with big, creamy remaining head. Bit disappointing aroma of sewer, along with earth and caramel. The flavour is as estery as the classics, there are suggestions phenols (vague band aid) and notes of caramel and earth. There are a lot of banana esters that coats the mouth so nicely. Mouthfeel is big-ish, with sweet maltiness in the end. Not much tin or nutmeg, just plain estery. No bitterness. I found this to be a bit different from the other hefes - due to the caramel thing.

Quack-Duck (6811) - Down South, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2011
bottle from Landbierdealer. Cloudy brownish colour, large off-white head. Malty, wheaty, hints of fruit - but very shy fruity hints only. Wheaty flavours dominate. Good.

Bottle 500ml.
Unclear medium orange amber color with a large, creamy to frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, caramel, orange notes, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy to watery, carbonation is soft. [20091113]
