Panzerfaust (374), Santiago, Chile Jan 7, 2008 Pours a dark cloudy amber color. Head is big white and creamy. It diminishes very slowly but stays as a 1 cm. thick film.
Aroma is spicy with thin layers of malt and soft hops. It reminds me of some belgian beers. There are clear notes of ginger and cardamom which is obvious but also hints of wood, cereal, mustard, herbs, vinegar and apple cider. Very unique and unusual for chilean standards.
Flavor is sour, acid with spicy notes. There is also noticeable the ginger and the cardamom sharing space with hints of spices, cardamom, vinegar, cider, flowers and lime.
Body is medium, low carbonation which gives a good definition of the flavors. Dry. The finish is slightly astringent. Interesting brew! I would love to drink this more often and it could be a fantastic product with a little of refinement.
almosi (279), Viña del Mar, Chile Dec 24, 2007 There has a strong fruit-bearing aroma and a brilliant amber color. Abundant, rapid foam and without cord. The ginger is very subtle. In the palate the beginning is agreeable, but it becomes tart, with a bad end. The aftertaste of the ginger is only rescatable. davidpl (393), Santiago, Chile Dec 1, 2007 Appearance: amber to mahogany color. Medium head, persistent and ivory color. Beautiful.
Aroma: intensive in ginger and cardamom smells; some lactic tone. Others strange aromas like buttery cheese. Floral.
Flavor: Enough spicy, gingery and caramels malts in start. Other species reminiscences like cinnamon and nut meg. Unfortunately sourness from a slight infection problem. Sweet but good balance. Floral, vegetables and herb touches similar to chamomile. Yeasty, ginger and malty aftertaste.
Palate: light body, watery texture. Medium carbonation.
Refreshing and with personality, unfortunately with slight infection problems.
