Pours hazy yellow to orange. Aroma is hops dominant, herbal but in a pleasant not annoying way. Also light malt sweetness is notable. Taste is semisweet, a bit sour with medium hops bittery, but huge presence of herbal tones in flavour. So it is hopped well, but not in the IPA way, strange. Flavour is balancedin a stange, undisturbable way Medium body, dry mouthfeel and finish. So far best from this style (kellerbier) what I remember. Liked a lot.

light cloudy pale yellow color, medium sized white head, slight herbal and malt aroma. Flavor is malty and bitter in the finish. Nice one!

Pours beautifully with a nice think fluffy jead, however aroma and taste leave a lot to be desired. Cloudiness of a keeler is thre, but aroma is faint and sweet/citrusy. Taste is also on the very light side, like a helles lager without the hop presence.

Cloudy light yellow with decent white head. Aroma is light citrus, almost like a weizen. Taste is not to outspoken, some light bitter citrus. Short fresh aftertaste. (Velp 201212)

Wonderful high white head. Cloudy yellow colour. Spicy full taste and long finish.

Pours a hazy light gold with a small fizzy white ring. Aroma is faint, but grassy grains of malt. Taste is malt forward and grassy. Would like more from this.

"Zischke Original ist ein süffiges, untergäriges, ungefiltertes, naturtrübes Kellerbier Pilsener Brauart mit einem Stammwürzegehalt von 11,3%. Der Alkoholgehalt liegt bei 4,8%, die Farbe ist mit 7 EBC vornehm blaß. Seinen besonders spritzigen Charakter erhält es durch die Hefe und den hohen CO2-Gehalt."
Soweit die Selbstbeschreibung. Wer nicht gleich zu Beginn belämmert aus der Wäsche schaun möchte, sollte dieses Bier NICHT aus dem Glas , sondern gleich aus der Pulle trinken. Das Aussehen ist einfach grottig schlecht; eigentlich mag ich eine naturbelassene Trübe, aber hier sieht es doch sehr hellgelb-milchig-trüb aus; wenn das Auge mittrinkt, bin ich gerade blind geworden! Die Beschreibung Kellerbier Pilsener Brauart ist schlichtweg gelogen, denn der Geschmack hat aber auch garnichts mit einem Pils gemein; citrusartige Fruchtigkeit, die durch die Hefe gerade noch rechtzeitig abgepuffert wird, das Malz verhindert schlimmeres. Spritzig? Hoher Co2-Gehalt? Definitiv nicht. Als Durstlöscher ordentlich, als Süffiger Charakter allenfalls ausreichend. Enttäuschend!

Bottle ( Swing Top) Bought on our Rhine holiday in August 2012. Yellow and slightly cloudy.Some sweetness and a medium body. Pleasant if uninspiring.
