Bottle from Remstore supermarket, Ohrid, Macedonia. Pours a very pale gold, with a frothy white head, soon disapating. Vague aroma of grass, yeast, slightly metallic. Fairly thin body, medium sweet but low in bitterness, average carbonation. Texture is just a little creamy.

At the local cafes they say that this is definitely the best local beer, and I think that’s likely to be true. This would not be uncomfortable in many European countries--other than a little light skunkiness (not much at all), there’s a decent composition with more appropriate flavors (e.g. hops) than inappropriate ones (chemical, corn, etc.). Bottle in Skopje at a random cafe.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours a clear, golden content covered with quite a small white head with virtually no retention.
There’s not much to the nose, besides the regular hoppy aroma and some grains in the back.
The taste is similar. Sweet at first, followed by a very gentle bitterness, but also quite watery.

500ml bottle bought in Skopje. Pale yellow with thin white head. Unpleasant aroma of yeast and a bit sour. Terrible sour and bitter taste. One of the worst if not the worst beer in Macedonia.

Quite a nice lager from Macedonia. Smooth, medium-bodied, not too hoppy. refreshing. That’s all I ask for from a beer from the balkan region.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Taste is surprisingly hoppy for a mainstream beer. There’s a light malt character backing it up, too. A pretty good example of a mainstream lager.
