Bottle brown, 500 ml, 11 P
Appearance: Pours real golden body colour with a nice clarity but in closer examination there are some sediments floating in the body texture, carbonation of the body is visually moderate, head is thin, poor, initially small and quickly diminishing totally. Nothing extraordinary.
Aroma: Thin bready - grainy, slightly accidic and kind of sweet citrusy on the verge of being flowery but very faint and weak, boring in general, nothing more to write about.
Flavour: Front is bitter and accidic - mineral - salty, later on quite quickly flavour becomes sweet and a fat malty base with maturely pronounced barley grains begin to play a domination role here till the very aftertste which is chalky and a little bit alcoholic. Finish duration is moderate.
Palate: Body is light, texture is wattery, carbonation on palate is quite lively, finish feel is chalky, slightly astringent and rather flat, mineral, slightly spicy and medicinal, clear.
joss (3120), Garching b. München, Germany Aug 20, 2008 Can. Golden, creamy off-white head. Light bready nose. Light dusty malt base, herbal, light metallic hops. Fairly basic. Medium body sparkly mouthfeel. Unholy_Brewing (294), Melbourne, Australia Jul 31, 2008 ...bottle. Gold color with small, fizzy white head. Clean on the nose, light bodied, with a cleansing finish. Hops in the nose, and on the finish, slightly bitter. Not too bad, but I have had better. chilangoglobal (96), Wagerningen, Netherlands Jul 19, 2008 brown bit dark pilsner, is not the best example of a Chzeck lager, watery taste and bitter, hops more noticeable that barely. end is too bitter. harrisoni (5129), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 14, 2008 500ml bottle from Tesco, Plzen. Clear gold, thin white head. Yep, an ok lager, nothing bad, no poor flavours. Mind you, not many positives either. A bit of butter maybe. It’s fine, some butter, not much hop. Just a bit plain.
