Allen (632), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Aug 14, 2008 Bottled 50cl. It pours a beautiful ruby beer with a diminishing off white head. The nose is of home made caramel, figs, pineapple, tarragon and sorbet accompanied by a slight hint of licorice. Slightly citrusy with some incense showing up. An extremely nice aroma!! The taste is of pineapple, home made caramel, figs and licorice. Rather sweet. Some tarragon sneaking in. Perfectly balanced. Average lacework. Medium bodied. The finish is rather dry with hints of caramel and raisins. Wonderful. pivo (2488), Germany Mar 1, 2006 Toasted malt, dark brown color, caramelly malt. Sweet malt, light tingly bitter. Full body and a great balance. Very nice. Saarlander (1459), The Saarland, Germany Feb 28, 2006 Pours a beautiful color, with a nice head. malty, but not overly so, really easy to drink, abit of a hop bite aftertaste on the back of the tongue, a great beer! Thanks to Yogi beera for this one! D (497), Kraków, Poland Sep 19, 2005 Updated: Oct 1, 2005Dark amber colour, medium lasting head. Roasted grain aroma. Malty flavour, slightly burnt. Little bitterness, smooth, slightly sweet but very tasty overall. Splendid Quack-Duck (1880), Bodensee, Germany Oct 7, 2007 bottle, thank you Shaney! Reddish-brown colour, small but rather persistent and creamy head. Malty aroma with a touch of honey. Fruity and malty flavour with hints of toffee and Black-Forest-honey, perfectly underlined by a hoppy bitterness and a tiny touch of coffee. What I liked especially was the brilliant fruity maltiness.
