3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle from Baruni’s in Baden, PA. Has a bitter, skunky taste, reminiscent of Heineken. Not really worthy of a good Czech Pilsner.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
The aroma is laden with various grasses. It is light golden in appearance with a little bit of lacing and a white head. It has a sweet taste with the various elements as well. There is a tangy, sweet taste on the palate.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle. BB 06.06.14. Pours a light honey colour with a dense white head which lasted well. Minimal lace. Very subtle aroma dominated by the malt. Medium palate and smooth texture. Fairly sweet and reminds me of honey and figs. The hops are subdued. Lingering finish. I quite like it.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml green bottle found on West Street, Boston, Lincolnshire: I popped into two ’Eastern Block’ shops and managed to discover 8 different Polish and other nations beers new to me, including this, my first ever (knowingly) Slovak brew. Best before the 18th Nov 2014 I poured it twice into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru badged stemmed tulip glass on 25th May 2014 in my fathers front room. Typical lager/pilsner look, golden, bright, clean and clear: on top a snowy white head that hung around for a while.
Grainy and slightly dry in nature with a sweet cereal undertone, next to no aroma apart from the aforementioned grains/cereals. OK but no world beater, a regular Czech Pilsner type brew, with nothing to set it apart from thousands of other brews within that ’pigeon hole’ of style and type.
