3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Although the nose is initially cereal grains, the taste is all pilsner. Lightly hopped, rich golden color with soft, creamy head. Medium weight mouthfeel and some lingering malt/hops on the palate. Easy to drink and highly enjoyable.

Clear, straw coloured liquid, frothy white head. Grassy, malty aroma with hints of pepper and metal. Medium sweet, with low bitterness. Buttery with some soggy paper in the aftertaste. Medium carbonation, decent mouthfeel.

In tthe same category as Urquell and Budvar. Excellent.

Pfui, das Bier schmeckte total nach Dose, obwohl es aus der Flasche getrunken wurde, das Geld nicht wert!

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
I find it regularly for cheap pretty much everywhere up here, and I’ve had it often enough before when having one of those inexplicable cravings for lager. Pours what you’d expect, so we can leave the comparisons to urine at the door. fizzy, slightly foamy head that dissipates fairly quickly. Smells of those skunky Czech hops that I find myself liking. Taste is mellow, nice hops backed by a competent but not at all overpowering sweetness. Goes down well, and chases nicely with some quality gin. Nothing at all wrong with the Pheasant; grab a crate of these over megaswill any day.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
50 cl bottle from Lidl, Bratislava, 5%. Gold color, big white head. Quiet nose. At first this appears to be quite malty and thick, integral bread, dough, grains. Lezak\lager feel. Hoppy is hoppy, but nothing exciting, just bitterness. A metallic note too. Malty and bitter finish, not very pleasing. Medium bodied, thick, oily texture, slick. A bit hard to push down this one. Mmm, strange.
