3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark golden beer with a light head and a fruity and dry aroma. The flavour is caramel hopped and quite dry. Overall a good Eastern European lager.

Herbal, spicy hop nose. Clear golden coloured body is topped by generous, white head that recedes to cover leaving behind some nice lacing. Crisp pils malt flavour with spicy Saaz hop finish and mild balancing bitterness. Light body with good carbonation is refreshing. Bottle (green). Thanks, Degarth!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Poured a golden yellow beer with a nice white bubbly head with average retention. Aroma is quite weak but some malt can be detected. Taste is quite crisp with some malt that can be detected and some bitterness at the end. Overall, I would classified this as a better then average pilsner without any watery taste and no skunk taste from the bottle which are two major accomplishments for this type of beer.

Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Off white small head. Sweet and metallic aroma. Flavour is malty and very sweet. Is very thin bodied and ends on a artificial sweet note. Not much hops present in this one.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Golden with a small white head. Aromas are sweet chemicals and sugar in water. Flavours are very sweet grain with "sugar dissolved in water" character. Very poor and artificial on the finish. Definately Pheasant - not Pleasant.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle - 500ml. Dark gold color similar to the one of the Pilsner Urquell. Average carbonation and nice white foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with grainy/bready notes. Its hoppy taste is OK but very unidimensional. Mouthfeel leaves a more than decent bitter aftertaste. Basically, this is a good beer, and I was enough fortunate to get a non-deteriorated sample (green bottle).

2.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma is like Cream of Rice and brown sugar - first impression is that it’s nice to come across any Eastern Bloc brew that doesn’t smell skunky! Great rust color with lots of bubbles clinging to the side of the glass - but the head and bubbly appearance fall flat after a minute or so. Nevertheless, mouthfeel remains well-carbonated though at the same time rather syrupy. The flavor of this beer really doesn’t differ much from the excellent aroma, but in a professional sense the taste of a beer should differ in that it possesses more "zing" than the aroma, lest the taste should fall flat. Well, the flavor of this beer possesses no "zing", but nevertheless Golden Pheasant shouldn’t be slighted as a totally bad beer. Just that the taste is rather flat and perfumey; and sadly, the skunkiness missing from the aroma reappears in the flavor itself.

Yet another green bottled lager from Europe. Of course the skunk aroma hit me right away. Has a bright gold coloring with a very thin head. The aroma has a little skunk with dirt and cooked carrots. The taste is a a fairly light metallic tinge. It also has celery and a little bit of pepper in the finish.
