Excellent Slovak lager! Let us please remember that this is not intended to be a dry German Pils like Jever or Bitburger, but a full-bodied Bohemian lager. Fresh aroma of malt and hops. Deep golden color. Good white foam retention. The taste is very clean and malty sweet as it is intended to be. This beer is very similar to Pilsner Urquell, but perhaps not quite as bitter. HIghly drinkable and very satisfying. A defining example of one of the world´s great beer styles, Bohemian Lager. Those who are not familiar with this particular beer style should not be rating Zlatý Bažant.

Bottle says ’Lager’ instead of 12% but seems the same beer. Clear golden with small white head. Taste has lots of malts, with slight toasty note and some corn. Light touch of lemon and hops. Taste is medium sweet, with small bitter in the finish. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Slightly one-dimensional and sweet, but better then most lagers.

(Bottle) Good looking beer, clear golden with big white head. Aroma of grassy hops and grain. Light body with good carbonation. Taste is surprisingly sweet, rather too sweet, and not a particularly malty sweetness, more sugary. There’s a lack of tartness to provide balance. There’s a reasonable amount of bitterness, but it is a little metallic and quite short-lived. Drinkable, but not a well balanced beer.

Basic lager. Very much like an American lager but with a smoother finish. Easy drinking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thick head dissipates fairly quick. Malty and slightly sweet aroma. Sweet and full bodied taste settles to a slightly more moderate finish. Fairly typical for a pilsner. Very enjoyable.

Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Aroma is of skunked malts, hops, and yeast. Flavor is the same. This is just as I expected. Typical green bottled international beer. Carlsberg, you have a sister brew.

Bottle. Golden color with a decent head and light lace. Aroma is grains, slight bread and of course green bottle skunk. Taste is sweet up front, bitter after taste and of course green bottle skunk.

500 ml bottle purchased at the Total Wine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The pour is clear golden with a fluffy two inch snow white head. The aroma is cereal grain, soft floral sweetness, along with a hint of clove yeast. The taste is sweet herbal floral upfront, moving to cereal grain huskiness, then finishing with a bit of earthy clove. Decently clean flavors. The palate is light bodied, low carbonation level and herbal finish. Sweet lingers a bit. Nice enough.
