Zlaty Bazant in Slovak, Golden Pheasant is one of Slovakia's best selling beers.

Another disappointment. I had always expected/hoped that this beautifully presented Slovak beer would have the quality equivalent to a great Czech Pilsener. But this is just too malty, cloying sweet, decent looking, and with a very feeble aroma of berries, which could have made it more interesting.

Good aroma , little wide head. Clear yellow. Tipical lager taste. Good beer for afternoons

Serving: 500 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a clear gold with a large but short lived white head. The nose has a bit of dough, grain, and a slight euro lager twinge to it. The flavor leans towards the grainy sweet side with a slight noble hop bitterness. While not the best example of the style, overall it’s really not that bad.

Aroma is sweet corn, dough, and maybe a bit skunky (green glass bottle coming from over there). Malt forward, grainy, sugary sweet, smooth finish. Drinkable in a pinch.

500ml bottle. A pretty typical eurolager with bready notes, some honey, a bit of fruit and a discrete hop presence. Bitter and metallic finish though, quite unpleasant.

Clear yellow color, with a fairly large head that sticks around. Slight metallic taste, which is surprising out of a bottle. When it warms it actually gets sweet with some mild malt and oat tones.

As part of International food tour of hells kitchen we stopped in this Balkan restaurant. Only had time for one brew but seems like ill have to come back to tick some more Balkan countries. drank very quickly but it was refreshing enough for the hot day. pours yellow with green hint mabe just lighting and frothy white head. nose is yeasty, and of stale hops. tastes of bitter hops, socks, yeast, grass, and vanilla. Happy to get a Slovak tick and the food at this joint is decent.

Smell typical of green bottle beer. Pours caramel colored with good lacing. Flavor is barely detectable with a metallic aftertaste. Not bad.
