Á pilsener, well right, but not a special good one, It has some ok opped aroma, but the flavor is somehow too sharp, alcohol? I think not, but sharp anyway. Unpleasent sharp.

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly deminishing head. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Light sweet and bitter flavor, a little cheasy. Average finish. Watery palate. Not my style.

From a half liter bottle. Aroma a bit skunky at first - could be the green glass. Nice thick, white head that lasted. Good carbonation. Not as much complexity as its Czech cousins. Nice bitterness, but the malt needs work. I remember this stuff being better years ago (pre Heineken). Maybe the ingredients or process was changed. Still a decent beer.

Bottle. My first Slovak beer I think. Not an altogether unpleasant experience, the sort of beer I can imagine getting drunk on quite easily, but nothing very interesting about it.

Bottle. Barely average pils. Pleasant enough. A bit more hoppier than its ilk, but handled well enough.

0,5l bottle. The small head disappears quickly. The beer smells of feet, with a strong hoppy taste. Quite fresh actually, but the smell takes the happiness away effectively.

IHCNavistar (93) - Orinda, California, USA - JUL 8, 2006
Bottle. Aroma is comprised mainly of hops, similar to that of Budweiser, but stronger and without the unpleasant corny/grainy/yeasty taste of American macros like Bud and Coors. Taste is similar to that of a Heineken (minus the slight yeast detectable in a Heineken), which is not all that suprising, seeing how the brewer is a Heineken company. The hops are quite plesant, dominating over any malts, but not to the point where it becomes too hoppy for a pilsener. Some malt is slightly detectable, with very slight yeast notes. Carbonation is very good, lasting throughout the 1 pint bottle. Definitely a repeat pilsener buy. Quite delicious and refreshing when very cold!

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2006 Another quality Czech/Slovak pilsner - sorry for the generaliation, but it’s because both these nations make premium beers of this kind. Great hops smell, reasonable carbonation, no traces of alcohol and a nice bitter note in the finish. Good.
