2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Skunky corn aroma with a golden color and small bubbly. quick dissipating head of one finger. Taste of corn, grass, lime and hops. Reminds me of Heineken in many ways... Watery yet balanced. Good beer no doubt, but not particularly interesting.

Bottle 0.5 L.
Clear golden body, with an thin, frothy, white head, mostly diminishing with a fair lacing.
Moderate malty (grains) and hoppy (grass) aroma.
Moderate sweet flavour with an evident bitter note that comes up in the long-lasting finish.
Light-to-medium body with an oily texture; soft carbonation; light metallic feeling in the finish..
Not excellent, but pleasant.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This one came slightly skunked so I’ll do my best. Straw colored with soap bubble head and light carbonation, fairly clear. A little grain/bread in the flavor and some spruce, bitter hops in the finish but not heavily flavored. Soapy, muddled, medium body.

2.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma is like Cream of Rice and brown sugar - first impression is that it’s nice to come across any Eastern Bloc brew that doesn’t smell skunky! Great rust color with lots of bubbles clinging to the side of the glass - but the head and bubbly appearance fall flat after a minute or so. Nevertheless, mouthfeel remains well-carbonated though at the same time rather syrupy. The flavor of this beer really doesn’t differ much from the excellent aroma, but in a professional sense the taste of a beer should differ in that it possesses more "zing" than the aroma, lest the taste should fall flat. Well, the flavor of this beer possesses no "zing", but nevertheless Golden Pheasant shouldn’t be slighted as a totally bad beer. Just that the taste is rather flat and perfumey; and sadly, the skunkiness missing from the aroma reappears in the flavor itself.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 mL Bottle. Clear gold with a 2-finger white rocky head that quickly settles to a thin frothy layer leaving good lace. Aroma is sweet malt, strongly floral-grassy with a note of honey and a whisper of pine. The flavor is predominantly sweet malt with a note of grapefruit rind, a whisper of honey, and a nutty hop bitter coming through in the aftertaste and lingering in the finish. GP for Golden Pheasant, GP for good pilsener.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours brilliant golden with thick puffy head. Aroma is of corn, grain, dust and a bit of skunk. Maltiness does not shine as well as other Bo’pils out there. This example makes me focus more on the lingering corn adjunct flavored (DMS) aftertaste. A light caramel sweetness is also up front and is very uncharacteristic of the style. Mouthfeel is medium up front and dissipates quickly with a chemical astringency. Overall impression is of an average mass-produced bo’pils...I do like the pheasants on the bottle though.
