This is a fantastic world class beer. A great example of a Pilsener. Golden crystal clear pour, soft white fine foam head. Very nice hoppy aroma. It’s malty flavour with a edge of fine hop ends very clean. Seek this one out.

Aroma: some sulphur with a floral noble hop nose Appearance: Golden with a beautiful lacy white head Taste:salty sweet malty taste which a pilsner must possess to be identified as Bohemian. Grainy Palate: light bodied and slightly slick with a wonderful hop numbing on the tongue to finish. Overall: IMO the world standard for Pilsner Beer. I have never had a better Pilsner.

On tap in Slovakia this is a world class beer. Its too bad that its shelf life is short when bottled so it leaves people with the wrong impression. This beer needs to be fresh and consumed within 3 months of being brewed. Check the expiry date which is usually a year after is was made. If it is older than 6 months dont bother. (This is the same for most czech/slovak beers!)

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2008 Dark green Bottle. Talk about an underrated beer. This goes down smoothly. The flavor is gentle, slightly sweet but malty with distinctive signature. Well ballanced, not as hoppy and carbonated as some other pills. The head disappears rather quickly leaving little or no lacing. I’ve had this hundreds of times and it never seems to become stale, tastes as great as the first time I tried it. This is my favorite pilsner next to Urquell.

Orlando Beer Fest: Grainy straw and crisp citrus. Light and refreshing with a nice little bitterness.

This is widely considered to be the best lager brewed in Slovakia ... and rightly so ... It’s a bit like a softer copy of the Pilsner Urquell, almost the same but slightly sweeter and therefore less dry ... I remember while living in Hong Kong someone visiting had the kindness to bring me a bottle of this and I truly enjoyed it ...

Herrlich! Test vom 26.4.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,13,14,13,10,14
