Jun ’14. A 0.33 l bottle kindly shared by the Slovakian RB crew, thanks! It poured almost black body with small, but persistent brown head. Strong, sweet aroma of raisins, honey and roasted bread. Flavor was predominately sweet as well, also rather complex with various malty notes ranging from plain sugar do herbal-like spices like licorice, jägermeister, but also roasted coffee, peat. Herbal hops are less pronounced but they were definitely there. Full bodied, especially for not so high ABV, with finish mirroring the flavors and blending them more closely. Best of the evening so far, really a good beer!

330ml bottle thanks to Cuso! Pours a very dark brown with fast receding beige head, liquorice and toffee on the nose. Taste is milk chocolate, toffee, liquorice, molasses and a soft sweetness.. quite a nice blend actually.

Bottle from a trade, thanks Michal! Dark brown colour, some beige foam. Aroma: toffee, caramel, soy sauce and some light roasted malts. Taste is very cloying sticky sweet. This beer isn’t good. Unbelievable it gets such a high ratings.

Apparently one of the last bottles of this, huge thanks to the Slovak Crew! Poured a black/very very dark red body with a small tan head. Malts and honey in the aroma, notes of raisins, full and soft. Nice, full malty, creamy taste, sweet and pleasant, but still dry enough not to overwhelm, clean, nothing off about it. Another proof that macros can do very good beers when they want to. Shame they don’t often want to do that.

Bottle 330 ml, as an extra from Cuso, many thanks! Poured into a snifter, ABV 6.7% Dark brown colour on the body, almost totally black, with one finger of brown thick head. Very good retention. Light lacing left on the glass. Lots of chocolate on the aroma, cocoa, lactic sweet, light vanilla. Very nice taste, it’s like I opened a chocolate box and i’m trying all the different ones in the box, sweet chocolate, dark chocolate, some hazelnut, the ones with the liquor in them, again some light vanilla, great! In spite of that it’s not that sweet, some roasted malts on the finish offer a nice bitterness which balances things. Medium thick body, good soft carbonation. Sticky palate. Overall that was a great beer, amazing.

Lahev( z Bratislavy, děkuji pěkně!):Clear, black coloured with ruby spots, mid-sized and quite stable tanned head; sweet molasses, liquorice and roasted malt and ashes in the bitter-sweet nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; lingering sweet roasty and fruity finish. A bit too sweet, but still well drinkable…

Bottle @ THT May, courtesy of dEnk. Pours a clear brownish black beer with a small off white, beige head on top. Aroma is very malty, loads of caramel, licorice and vanilla. Some coffee notes as well. Flavor is very sweet, loads of caramel again, touch of vanilla and coffee in the background. Nice, full flavored beer, nice find!
