COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Zlatý Bažant dark beer is unique for its typical bouquet presenting a mixed aroma of special malted barleys and quality hops. The beer is characterised by a sweetish caramel flavour and proportional, mild bitterness. This beer is very popular also in a half-and-half combination with pale beer, known as the "cut" beer.

Clear, dark - almost black. Medium head, reduced to small ring. Aroma almost none... some roast malts and dark bread. In mouth little bit better. Little bit sweet, roasty, caramel and some coffe with milk in the background. Quite watery, but drinkable. Light bitterness.

BOTTLE 50CL from Cuso. Thanks, Imro! Look: almost black with red highlights and a beige medium frothy to creamy head. Aroma: quite faint, roasty, toasty, burnt sugar, harsh sulphitic notes. Taste: light sweetness, roasted, old malt, light-to-moderate bitterness.

Very light, with little black malt character. Some lageresque sulphitic notes.

Aroma: roasted dark malts. Appearance: dark color, nice lasting beige head. Taste: roasted dark malts, malty backbone gives some sweetness, coffee substitute. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, nice roasted finish combines with sweetness. Overall: Nice enjoyable dark beer. Highly drinkable, but in my view this beer is too sweet.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Caramel and roast in the aroma. Malty sweetish, caramelly flavor with hints of grassy hops. Thinnish. Very drinkable. Nice beer!

Had it as ’Cerny’ in a cafe in Homel. Dark brown body, thin head. Aroma of bread, caramel, syrup as expected. The body is light still not watery. Sweetish taste. Smooth malty finish. Well balanced beer.

0.5l bottle. Unclear dark ruby color with small beige head. Weak malty, caramel aroma. Well balanced flavor, malty, bread, caramel notes and decent bitter counter. Slightly watery, but not bad at all as for 10°Plato.

33 cl bottle, from Billa, Bratislava, 0.89€, 3.8%. Looks black in distance but it’s dark ruby red, creamy beige head. Quiet nose with some caramel. Aroma of sweet roasted malts, brown sugar, a hint of caramel. Taste sweetish. Thin hops profile. Very light taste overall, light body, thin, smooth, soft carbonation. Unoffensive, lacks of bite.
