georgekessel (68), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Dec 18, 2007 Low Suds which allows the truely sweet apple-like flavors to permeate my palate. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Dec 17, 2007 Updated: Nov 28, 2008Deep cherry wood color with nice head and lacing. Great cherry bread/cake nose and flavor with some marachino notes. The cherry cake mellows into malt purity. Light but bursting mouthfeel. Dark cherry, sour with balancing dose of sweetness and even some pit seeds adding welcome bitterness at end. <re-rate> Mainly clear, warm red-orange amber with white head, nice looks. Cherry-sour. wood aromas are complex and inviting. Slight pedio in finish but otherwise nicely earthy and funky. Yogurt. Not bad but the cherry tart gets lost in the pedio here. dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA Nov 29, 2007 Pours a clear amber with a large amber tinted head, nose screams vinegar at first but begins to bring an oak funk on, tastes sweet and tart like Rodenbach but finishes much more bitter and a bit dryer. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2007 750ml caged and corked bottle. Poured a medium and cloudy amberish color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of vinegar, caramel, raspberries and other berries, and fruity. Tastes of vinegar, caramel, and berries. Lightly tart and sweet. egajdzis (3602), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2007 Poured a murky amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left perfect lacing on the glass. Aroma of raspberry, sweet cherries, leather, lacto, and light vinegar as well. Taste of cherry, raspberry, bread, with vinegar, light tartness, and a dry, yeasty finish. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Sep 23, 2007 Purchased @ Holiday Wine Cellar. Created an instant aroma upon opening of the bottle of lively signs of yeast, spice and malt. Appeared in my snifter as a mahogany/brown color and was accompanied by a thick fat white head that didn’t want to go away. The initial flavor is a mixture of sourness clashing with a background of sweet flavors. I find really tart fruit such as pear and green unripe grapes and for the sweetness I believe it’s the malt and again the fruit flavors is contributing to the sweetness I taste. Interesting sour ale that should be more readily available for everyone to have a chance to sample. drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 14, 2007 750ml. it’s about time I start making my way through these de proef brews. pours dense red with huge off-white head. nose is very fruity, red apples and cherries, with big sourness and subtle oaky notes. flavor has some sour aspects but balances sweet and sour well with other fruity notes of red apples and cherries, along with some subtle funky, oaky, and acidic notes. everything nicely balanced but more on the fruity side than the wild. the body is medium and the carbonation is smooth. a rodenbach grand cru fan should feel at home with this offering. beastiefan2k (1590), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Sep 5, 2007 Very murky orange-heavy red color, medium sized but strong head, sticky lacing. Aroma is very fruity, sour, light vinegar, and some cereal. Taste is not as sour, more like very tart. Smooth beer with a medium-heavy body, and average carbonation. Aftertaste of light acidity and a lot of floralness.
