Rich amber colored pour with a small beige head. Smell is lightly sour with cherry, mildish funky feet like aroma, and hints of cheese. Mild tartness and a subtle cheese like flavor in the finish, I thought. Very dry overall and with light sweetness. Went very well with the bleu cheese. Nice beer, and I’m starting to get more interested in the style. Thanks for sharing this one Alan! Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA

Great cherry bread/cake nose and flavor with some marachino notes. The cherry cake mellows into malt purity. Light but bursting mouthfeel. Dark cherry, sour with balancing dose of sweetness and even some pit seeds adding welcome bitterness at end. <re-rate> Mainly clear, warm red-orange amber with white head, nice looks. Cherry-sour. wood aromas are complex and inviting. Slight pedio in finish but otherwise nicely earthy and funky. Yogurt. Not bad but the cherry tart gets lost in the pedio here. dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Purchased @ Holiday Wine Cellar. Created an instant aroma upon opening of the bottle of lively signs of yeast, spice and malt. Appeared in my snifter as a mahogany/brown color and was accompanied by a thick fat white head that didn’t want to go away. The initial flavor is a mixture of sourness clashing with a background of sweet flavors. I find really tart fruit such as pear and green unripe grapes and for the sweetness I believe it’s the malt and again the fruit flavors is contributing to the sweetness I taste. Interesting sour ale that should be more readily available for everyone to have a chance to sample.
