jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA Nov 19, 2006 Bottle. A reddish amber color with a big foamy creamy tan head. A wood, cherry, and sour fruit aroma. Sour cherry and citrus flavors with a slick malty flavor and a hay barnyard finish. I always enjoy a good Flemish Sour Ale. nolankowal (850), Columbus, Ohio, USA Nov 14, 2006 Bottle shared by moejuck, thanks! Pours a reddish orange with a white head. Aroma of sour, grapes, and some menthol elements. Flavor had a bit of funk with some orange zest and more grape notes. Dry and sour througout with a bit of malt. Aroma, some alcohol, a nice sweetness to it, with the sour coming through as well, some fruits. Flavor, fruity sweetness, a nice sourness, but it’s balanced quite nicely. Indra (2023), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Nov 8, 2006 750ml bottle. Fruity, spicy and markedly tart aroma, notes of cherry, red grape and tree bark to be found along with a certain musty yeast funk and some light phenols. Attractive deep red-orange color in the glass, taking on a rosy tint and featuring a large, foamy ivory head. Flavor profile is primarily composed of the sweetly malty and tart, fruity elements, playing these off one another and seeing an influx of citrus along with suggestions of cinnamon and wood here. Finish is moderately acidic and again features a juicy tartness. Smoothly creamy palate with a medium-full body. Has something to offer fans of the style. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Nov 6, 2006 To me, this may be the best Flemish sour I’ve had. Extremely smooth and easy to drink with a hint of the sour bite. Just an excellent beer for number 17 at the party. I was very impressed. Tmoney99 (4661), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Oct 31, 2006 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured hazy copper color with a moderate fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus and sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium sour citrus flavor with a sweet smooth finish of moderate duration. This is a good beer with spicy food. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 24, 2006 Pours amber with a fizzy and patchy off-white head, spotty lacing. Aroma is sour fruit (cherry, berry), caramel malt (meal, biscuit) and yeast (dough). Medium sweetness, fruity cherry mild bitter and acidic flavor, malt caramel notes, candied. Medium bodied and fizzy, foamy palate. I was unimpressed with this as a Flemish Sour Ale, closer to a syruped Fruit Lambic; it lacked the tartness I am used to in Flemish Sours.
