luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Oct 22, 2006 750. Beer is hazy, medium caramel brown colored. Head is small, white, frothy, mostly and rapidly diminishing.

The aroma is malty with a light note of toasted grain, caramel; Hoppy with a light note of thyme; Yeasty with a trace of basement, moderate and pleasing horsey/farmy brettness; Moderate miscellaneous notes of sour cherry, pear, light balsamic vinegar.

The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, light-to-moderately acidic with an average-length, lightly sweet, lightly acidic finish.

The body is medium, the texutre is velvety and the carbonation is lively. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 22, 2006 Slightly cloudy light brown, small head. Moderate sour cherry aroma, some yeast. Taste is sweet cherries, not very sour at all. Slightly yeasty, mild bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Oct 19, 2006 Corked bottle, BevMo La Mesa. Pours a deep amber/maroon color with plenty of carbonation and an ever growing head. Tart champagne notes. Some spice and fruitiness as well. Not extremely soour. A fair amount of tart fruity flavors. Some dark fruit lying just underneath the surface. A little bit of yeastiness as well. Finish is somewhat sour with a little bitterness as well. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Oct 17, 2006 Dull hazy red with ample loose tan head. Tart caramel apple aroma with some underlying funkiness. Light and spritzy and rather dry. Not too sour but lacking balancing flavors. A bit oxidized. Not bad but one dimensional. Has that saccharine finish. I orginally rated this a 3.3 but it impoved while warming. deadguy (35), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 16, 2006 smells and tastes like spicy and sour peppers. hint of alcohol in the after taste. nice amber body dkoonce (880), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Oct 15, 2006 This beer is amber/brown with minimal head. The aroma is alcohol and malt. Fairly sour with a lot of alcohol in the taste. DYCSoccer17 (2187), Davis, California, USA Sep 29, 2006 Bomber purchased at the Bevmo in Sacramento, CA Arden Way. Funky, sour, musty aroma with some sweet apple cidery notes as well. Not overly sour, but sour enough to be a pleasant aroma for the style. Moderately hazy amber/copper color with a rather frothy khaki-colored head and decent lacing. Highly carbonated immediate sour apple acidity to start, which then turns a bit sweet--almost cloyingly so for the style. Kind of a sugary sweetness. Finishes pretty dry and pretty long with a nice woodiness from the barrel. Unfortunately, this sticky sweetness lingers along in the finish and creates a somewhat unpleasant dichotomy. Too sweet and underattenuated. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Sep 23, 2006 Pours a deep brown with a pinkish whispy head. Aroma is sour pie cherries with some vanilla. The body is mediuam with avg. CO2. The flavor is med-sour, very well balanced, with some characteristics of cherries, oak, and toffee. Simply delicious.
