Bottle from 08 Night of the Funk. Aroma of rich caramel and wheat, only mild hints of funk. Flavor has the same rich sweetness but the funk and tartness comes in more, and apparently something about the interplay is very interesting, but I can’t read my notes well enough to say exactly what...oops. Rich palate albeit a touch wearing. Very good.

Pours murky brown with a huge lasting tan head. Nose is sharp cheese, very yeasty. Flavor initially is sour cherries, funky/musty yeast, and a strange green flavor towards the end. NOT SOUR! Rather watery mouthfeel. Slightly chalky but not very interesting palate.

Reddish color with a medium white head. Aroma is sour with lots of cherry and sugar sweetness. Flavor is heavy on cherries with lots of sugar and a hint of sour. Tasty, smooth, tart, highly drinkable - just average for a sour though.....

Pours a murky caramel brown color with a puffy offwhite head. Nose is vinous, tart cherries, plum, citrus, barnyard funk with a background of sweet malt. Initial taste is loaded vinous characteristics, tart sharp cherries hit the mouth hard. Plum and other dark fruits touch upon briefly. Mid palate moves into a light cocoa and sweet malt. Finishing extremely dry, tart citrus, and continuing vinous qualities. Not as complex as expected, but a decent sipping sour ale. Great head retention and spot lacing of the glass. Palate duration is average. Body is light to medium.

Tightly packed caramel head perched above an amber colored beer...significant lacing left after each enjoyable sip. Aroma is of tart cherries, horse blanket, plum and a bit of citrus. Flavor isn’t quite as puckering as other sours, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The 7% ABV is truly invisible. Great balance between the sour and an underlying sweetness; doesn’t linger on the palate past its welcome. Glad this one is readily available. I’ll purchase this again for sure.

Pop this open and you can smell the farmhouse funk! But the aroma dissipates quickly and you get that golden Belgian aroma with light barnyard. Pours chocolate brown with white head - flavor is a tempered sour against a tempered sweet - excellent balance of the two!

Pours reddish brown into a snifter. Ecru micro head with good retention leaves sheet lacing as it slowly recedes to skim surface. Sour cherry aromas. Creamy and tart with upfront cherries and a lasting, dry bitter pit finish.

On tap @ 1702 - Pours a hazy amber color with a medium size off white head which took its sweet time to fade. Nice lacing. The carbonation was light, but long lasting. Aroma is tart esters (apple). The flavor was a sweet/tart ester combo. Light to medium body. One of the better Sour ales I’ve tried.
