Pours a ruddy brown with minimal head but luscious lacing, nose is quite intense, balsamic vinegar, tart cherries, mustiness, beef jerky. Quite rich and full on the palate, not too tart, dominant currant malts with a slight peppery hop finish, meat and tobacco, long finish leading to a butterscotch sweetness. Quite a nice example of the style, nicely balanced. dbruce86 (1), Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Head: 1/4" amber persistent head, very light lace

Dark dirty cherry color with lightly colored head...sweet and sour cherries in the nose, lots of barnyard...in the body, sour to vinegariness, spicy, a bit cardboardy and "flat" flavorwise compared to the best in the style, but cherry-wine flavor is strong throughout, carbonation is good and authenticity is there. radiomgb (2076), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 3, 2006 This Flemish sour pours a deep red color from a 750ml bottle. Freakishly large sized beige foamy head, good lacing. Aroma is cherries (sweet and tart) some must and some wood. Medium bodied Flemish Sour. Malts are sweet with lot of cherry tartness. Nice fruity flavors are balanced by the must, barnyard and funk. A little sweeter and a little less funky than say a Rodenbach or a Duchess or other Flemish sours, but its still a very enjoyable beer. Nice carbonation Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some residual tartness.
