Smells bad. A smidge better than the Botchkarev, perhaps. Thin and watery. Undistinguished from an american standard.

Bottled. My first impression of Russian lagers was that they were too sweet, but maybe that was just the Baltika. This is suitably dry, the color is a nice golden hue with a thin head. Maltiness plays well with a little bitter. A nice standard beer.

Bottle - 500ml. Boring golden body with a quick-fading white foamy head. Weak malty/hoppy aroma. Taste is thin and ends with a short bitter finish. At least, the BOB (bottle-opener bottle) works.

Draught at Kult Bar in Moscow, pale straw with a white foamy head and very carbonated. Aroma was grassy and metallic. A harsh metaalic dryness to the palate, with only grassy hops as flavour. Terrible.

Large offwhite/grey head, mostly lasting with splotchy lacing.. Good looking clear amber lager. Somewhat soapy, malty nose. Medium body. Malty, corny flavors with a hint of wet cardbord, yum. Astringent, dry finish.

Simple light pilsener styled beer. The taste of the hops is light, but lingers. Not bad.

Tap at the Idiot in St. Petersburg. Poured a very pale golden with a fizzy white head. Faint corn aroma. Flavor of light corn and grass, with some wonderful skunkiness in the finish. Not very pleasant.
