UPDATED: SEP 17, 2014 Золотая Бочка Классич& - Classic Golden Barrel. 50cl aluminium can from a supermarket in Kremenchuk, Ukraine. Says that Efes Ukraina, Donetsk, SAB Miller stands behind it. Pasteurized bright beer. 12’ and abv 5%. Pours a head taller than average, bumpy foam, leaves fields on its way down. Body is bright golden, rare and tiny bubbles. Scents of bread, grassy hops. Tastes malts and hops, the carbonation, something sweet. Feel is alright, but sweetness and carbonation disturbs. Aftertaste; bread, rye bread, syrup, malt. Overall it’s coming well at the end. Pale lager with some premium elements. 34437=2.1 - Re-Tasted 10SEP-2014; fruitiness in aroma, buttery notes in taste, feels fruity on palate. B@supermarket in Baltics. Seems to have been improved a bit. New 4-4-4-3-8=2.3

One pint bottle that Patty gave me from BOTW. I sampled this with JB while he was trying to rid my computer of a virus that the kids gotten. The hops really stayed on the palate from this one cause the Yuengling I had after this tasted just like this for the 1st couple of swigs.

Bottled. My first impression of Russian lagers was that they were too sweet, but maybe that was just the Baltika. This is suitably dry, the color is a nice golden hue with a thin head. Maltiness plays well with a little bitter. A nice standard beer.

Simple light pilsener styled beer. The taste of the hops is light, but lingers. Not bad.

Thanks to my colleague Anastasia who bright this back from Russia for me. Appearance: Light orange, small off white head. Aroma: Rubber, hay, grass, wet cardboard, dust. Flavour: Tangy plastic, wet cardboard, soda like, weak body, instant bitter finish.

Smells bad. A smidge better than the Botchkarev, perhaps. Thin and watery. Undistinguished from an american standard.

Yellow colour. Creamy head. Peculiar vanilla ice cream aroma. Thin and over carbonated with a dry, grassy bitterness

Large offwhite/grey head, mostly lasting with splotchy lacing.. Good looking clear amber lager. Somewhat soapy, malty nose. Medium body. Malty, corny flavors with a hint of wet cardbord, yum. Astringent, dry finish.

Draught at Kult Bar in Moscow, pale straw with a white foamy head and very carbonated. Aroma was grassy and metallic. A harsh metaalic dryness to the palate, with only grassy hops as flavour. Terrible.

500 mL bottle bought in Moscow and consumed in Huntsville, AL. Pours a clear, pale yellow with a thin white head. The nose is mostly wheat and carbonation, with some notes of yeast and pine hops. The flavor is weak, but well balanced sweetness and bitterness. The body is light, and the alcohol is noticable. Overall, a mediocre beer, but not offensively bad.
