Ernest (6185) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 27, 2004
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of solvent and gasoline. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Industrial, grainy, fizzy, fusel alcohol, typical Russian swill.

dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - JAN 6, 2005
Bottled. Golden colour, small head. Corny, adjuncty aroma. Grainy, watery taste, almost no hops. Slightly tart. Not as offensive as some russian lagers, due to its wateriness.

IMtheOptimator (1161) - Bethel, Connecticut, USA - JUN 26, 2006
Tap at the Idiot in St. Petersburg. Poured a very pale golden with a fizzy white head. Faint corn aroma. Flavor of light corn and grass, with some wonderful skunkiness in the finish. Not very pleasant.

SilkTork (5187) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 22, 2002
This is brewed by Kaluga Brewery Company not far from Moscow. The Kaluga brewery is part of the SAB giant, and also brews Miller Beer under a 5 year licence agreement which runs out in 2005. The recipe is supposed to date from 1875, although the brewery only began making it in May 1999. This is quite popular in Russia and could be compared to Bud in terms of quality and market appeal. The English translation is Golden Barrel - Classic. Best avoided.

Sevenlee (1294) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - DEC 14, 2013
Pours a golden colour with a fast disappearing head. Aroma is malt, apple and meh. Taste is as meh as a pale lager gets. Overall, just meh.

Marduk (2637) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 19, 2014
500ml bottle. Clear golden color. Medium size, white head, stays. Papery, wort, sour notes in aroma. Malty, yeasty, cereals, sweetish, dirty notes in taste. Papery, corny aftertaste. Nasty.

500ml bottle - exchange with Saint Matty - thanks!
Pale, fizzy. Bland vaguely lagery aroma. Nasty metallic palate. Slight horror taste - papery, and too strong to ignore. Not refreshing, not tasty, actually quite nasty.
