33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 04/09/2014. Dark brown, slight ruby hue, small off-white head. Sweet caramel, thick dark fruits, candy sugar, slight liquorish, sweet spices, very sweet, liquid brown sugar caramel malts smell overall. Taste is dried dark fruits, cocoa powder & chocolate, very sweet caramel & toffee malts, light coffee & oodles of melted candy sugar, Oily, caramel malts but not thick or anything mouthfeel. Makes me think more of a light Barley Wine than a BSDA. This should be rated higher & better known, really good stuff.

Brown beer with a creamy head. Grains, roasted malt and licorice in nose. Suprisingly medium body when ABV is 8%. Well and lively carbonized. Bitter chicory on palate, roasted barley, grains and well bitter chocolade. Quite pleasand bitter finish. B@H

Bottle, bought @ Beer Planet, Brussels.
Deep brown with slight red edges. Lovely, styaing, creamy, yellowish head. Aroma has caramel, overripe to slightly rotten red apples, plums, raisins, mild sulphur, some spicy notes of nutmegand coriander. My description might sound bad, but it’s actually kinda nice. Medium carbonation, great creamy and kinda dry mouthfeel. Flavour is lovely dry chocolate and mild coffee mixed with plums and raisins. Great cocoa-powder graininess to it. Lingering herbal and malty dryness. Great flavour overall.

33cl @ Willems, Belgium. Pours deep dark amber with a small creamy white head and lacings. Lots of dark fruit and chewy dark malts. Smooth and full bodied. Caramel and liquorice. Almost like a very good Old Ale. Vinous and complex. Dopeness.

bouteille 33cl as Dubbel Donker.

Bottle Thanks to Gunther Bench. Pours a dark mahogany with a beige head. Aroma of caramelize malts, dry dark fruits, with hints of hops. Taste of caramel malts, brown sugars, coffee, herbs, earthy. Sweet and light bitterness. Medium carbonation, with long lasting taste. With strong caramel and coffee taste finish. Very nice brew, very tasty.

Good, dark-beige head over deep hazy-amber-chestnut beer. Tarry, phenolic nose; chestnut flour, nectar. Sweet, liquorice; ethanol and higher alcohols, alcohol-seeped wood. Very well-bodied, creamy MF, alcohol, even brandy in the aftertaste. Nice, interesting. Wonder about their recipe, the blonde is equally nice.

First time bottle 33 cl. @ home end december 09. Second time WBF-beertasting 22.01.2010. Dark amber-brown color, with beige head. Aroma spice, roasted malts. Medium body. Taste sweet, little liquorice, different spice, alcohol touch. Good but ill like the blonde also.

Tap @ ZBF 2010. A clear dark brown colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma is fresh, with some chocolate and spices. The taste has some dark chocolate with nutes. Hints of sweet honey. The aftertaste is thereby bitter with a little sweet.
