COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

In bottiglia.

Some grainy maltiness, unpleasant corn, light earthy hops. Light sweet with moderate to light bitterness. Drinkable, but one-timer. Nothing to remember

Bottle 500ml at home, into a Guinness glass. ABV 5.2% Golden yellow colour on the body, bright but pale. Two fingers of white, soapy head with good retention though, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma is faint and weak, some malts and hay. Taste begins sweet, also weak. Some metallic notes, hay and plenty of malts, especially on the finish. Thin body, average carbonation. Overall nothing special, quite boring but still enjoyable somehow.

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast, hops and paper. Bitter taste of hops and cardboard with a good deal of yeast and a mild paperlike finish. Acceptable but quite too paperlike for my taste.

50cl bottle, picked up somewhere along the way. Fairly typical, innocuous thicker (süffig & würzig: check) Helles. Label mentions no hop extract, but hops play modest role. Is this really the oldest German family brewery in the world?
