Shared with maniac and maltdawg. Pours a dark brown with ruby highlights and tan head. Vegetal, some smoke, and malty. Thin bodied, but pleasant. Not bad, but nothing special.

Pours dark brown. Mild toasty nutty flavor up front. Water palate, not a very crisp estery finish, more watery caramel flavor. Decent, but didn’t stand out.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TBone (9999) - Pori, FINLAND - AUG 21, 2012
Bottled 500ml (BZ, BB 01/2013)
This one was a bit gusher. Deep red, not much head (beige head vanishing quickly). Strong aroma of dark bread and malta. Medium-bodied. Rye bread, caramel and soya sauce in the toasted flavor. Dried dark fruits. Simple, kvass-like flavor. Actually this tastes more a bock than typical dunkel, just lacks alcohol.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cornfield (5276) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - NOV 19, 2008
The bottle that I picked up at the Friar Tuck in Bloomington, IL, listed this as 4.7% ABV. It poured a deep, clear reddish brown with a creamy, sustained ecru head that provided plenty of lace. It smelled of sweet wort and caramel and tasted pretty much the same but stopped just short of being cloying. Not bad.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 asheft (2264) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 9, 2009
[bottle]
Potent bready currant aroma with lots of tobacco and raisins. Dark brown-garnet with an off-white, wispy top. Sweet, biscuity flavour with a little brown sugar, raisins, and lots of bread crust. Low bitterness with balance towards sweet. Medium body, low carbonation, sweet, nutty finish. Probably a very good dunkel, just not a style that I like.

Bottle. Brown with no head. Nose is very malty. Flavor is equally malty. Didn’t get much of the chocolate others mention. Just lots of malt. Easy drinking, but not my style.
