i suppose you can describe it as "gold", but really straw yellow with a small head. smell is grassy with a tiny bit of strawberry jam. taste is bitter, clean, fruity hops with a bit of raspberry/jam, spiciness, a lasting taste. palate is good, appropriate for a pils/real lager. summary: a czech beer rarely lets me down.

Chilled. Tight off white modest head, diminishing on a clear gold golden body. Curtains and other crocheted lacings inside the mug. Aroma; caramel malts, hops, toffee notes, mild grains, fruity hops, bread notes and fume of dough. Taste; fruity hops, grainy hops, toffee malts, caramel malts, bread, grains, a crust of butterscotch. Normal on palate and carbonation. Hops are still playing a role in the finish, plus bread, butterish malts. Overall decent pilsener on the normal side. [50cl brown bottle, abv4.6%°, BB091214]

Aroma is stale with mash, grainy notes, some honey and hints of moldy cellar. Flavour is quite unpleasant with some moldy cellar notes, honey, cardboard and hints of wood. Finishes with harsh bitterness and gooseberry bush. Perhaps a bit past of its prime?
