COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Ingredients: Barley malt; Hops; Hop extract; Antioxidant E300.
Beer with golden-honey color with thick, delicate and lasting foam, known for its medium to higher, rounded fullness and stronger, fuller body. The characteristic indicators is the medium intensity of bitterness with delicate, harmonistic character, which leads one to enjoy more draws from the glass.

In short: A basic bland pils with little of everything. Light on flavours but not offensive.
How: Czech Republic trip planning tasting session
The look: Clear blonde body with a small white head
In long: Cereals with a very light honey flavour. Shy hops providing a little bitterness with no accompanied flavours. Too light on taste to amount to anything. Lacks of crispness in the body and dryness in the finish. We drank it before the best-before date but I had an overall lack of freshness sensation. Making me think that maybe the Dominican Republic would have been a better destination than the Czech Republic for my next vacation next month.

(Rating #1450)

My Bottom Line:
Minty Saaz colours this brew in its entirety, picking up speed for its lengthy herbal bitterness, as lean pils malts offer honey and clean cereal notes. There is not much to distinguish this one from other Bohemian Pilsners, but it can hit the spot if one has a hankering for the style.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam dips into the clear gold.
-Carbonation is comfortable despite its excited nature.
-Its lack of distiguishing features make it forgettable even though it is obviously well crafted.
-I get a feeling this one is a lot more interesting fresh from the tap in its region. It felt overly clean and hermetic in this bottle.

Bottle; best before February 14, 2008.

bottle from Pivní Galerie. Golden yellow colour, large head. Aroma of malt and lemon. Malty, pleasantly hopps, rather light-bodied brew with a shy fruityness (lemon). Slightly dry mouthfeel.

Pours a clear straw gold (a bit on the copper side) with a 1 cm frothy white head of soap suds. The head settles to a lacing with excellent coverage. The aroma is of citrus, hay, red licorice, celery. All in all, a bit more fruity than usual, but standard. The mouthfeel is crisp, but comes across a tad watery. The carbonation is low to medium. The taste is very malty sweet (there’s that red licorice), grapefruit, some honeycomb as it warms, and a mild to medium hoppy finish. An okay session beer, but certainly not the best from the region.

Bottle. Clear, golden beer with a nice, off-white head. Weak aroma with sweetish maltyness and fruityness. Some alcohol-notes in the flavor, as well as sweetness and hay-ish flavors. Medium body. Long, but weak hoppiness in the finish. Rather boring but certainly drinkable czech. (070707)

Pours a medium orange to golden sort of color with a smallish white head. Aroma is light and hoppy. It tastes very pilsnery, nicely bitter, but with just a tiny bit of spicy, and some nice hops as well. Medium carbonation, but slightly watery mouthfeel.
