2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
1/2 liter euro bottle. Pours a darker yellow-gold color, meagre head that leaves quickly...still lightly laces the glass. Nose-wise you get sweet malty grains and light grass smells but a very sneaky light vegital note ( is there some corn in this brew??)
Sweet and malty up front... light citrus hopping sits in the background in the medium body makes this a malt biased lager, with a wet biscuity finish only slightly attenuated by light hopping...normally Iíd be in malt headís bliss with this beer except for one thing...an annoying funky sweet-vegital taste that lurks just below the malt profile...my thinking is there was a little corn ( 10%?) in the mash to get the ABV up to 5.8%. Too bad, that ruins an otherwise malty lager.

The bison is back with a new look! For some reason, the alcohol content here is 5.8%. The beer has a nice golden colour and a dissapating white bubbly head. Smell of sulfur and light malt. Rather average dry malty taste, with chalky astringent mouthfeel. The hops are still fairly present, but dissipate quickly. Medium body. Not so new beer at LCBO.

Golden colour with fairly big white head. Aroma is malty with some fruity sweetness. Flavor is malty with hints of bread, finish is more on the sweet side.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2005 Deep golden color with a frothy white head that quickly diminished to ring. The slight aromas were honey and Polish hops. Light toffee malts within an overall sweet flavor. Not bad.

Oh, what a shock, itís yet another new European lager at the LCBO! At least this one is half-decent. Nice clear golden colour with a short white head. Aroma is bready and slightly floral. Flavour is nicely balanced with a very wet middle and a pleasant mellow hop finish.

Can. Mild cereal/vegetable aroma. Nice golden color with moderate, quick collapsing head. Acidic vegetable flavor. Not much body - pretty unique pilsener but not too great. The can is pretty cool though.

Pale golden lager with a strong dry aroma and a dry and fruity flavour. Overall a very good strong beer.

Nothing special here. But that isnít a bad thing. Moderately sweet pilsner, not much of a head or aroma, but very refreshing. The taste sticks with you.

Clear yellow color, thin white head. Pff, again i could describe just another pilsener. But why should I, when itís so obvious?
