1l-bottle, bought at the brewery. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark, almost black. Zippy but small head. Starts mild, almost a bit washy. Then more and more malty-dry, fine roasty. Fruity hints. Finish well balanced, quite drinkable. Nice dunkel!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Maria (9556) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 17, 2011
From tap at the brewpub – and this is my # 2000 German beer rating. It’s hazy, dark brown with a creamy head, and the aroma has notes of malt, caramel and syrup. The flavour is sweet with notes of light licorice, roasted malt, light syrup, and the finish is dry – a very nice dunkel.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (26194) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 5, 2007
Draft. A hazy brown beer with a slight orange shine under a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of butter and oranges. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and light notes of ground cocoa beans, oranges, and burnt malt, leading to a bitter finish. The body is a bit thin.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 16, 2006
(On tap) Slightly hazy orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Lightly burned caramel aroma. Medium body with roasted malt and then again a slightly burned edge. Rather hoppy finish makes this an atypical Dunkel. 061106
