A surprising Trappist from Zundert. Very nice nose and beautiful amber color. The taste itself doesn’t fully deliver, making it a noteworthy new Trappist that’s worth a try.

Trappisst is a legendary beer style. Brewed with a little secret of monks who also lived a little secret life. Therefore Trappist beer always been a little mystified and something like beer enthusiasts have considered something special. I do not know quite the exact history, but today there are a Trappist organization to recognize a brewery before they can adorn themselves with Trappist mark. Within the last few years a brewery in Austria has been recognized, and now this brewery in the Netherlands, so honestly: Is Trappist still what it was? Zundert has moderate foam. Scent of a little orange zest characterize most, but otherwise felt a little caramel and soft fruit. Palate is pleasant and comfortable, but the extravagant as one expects from a Trappist absent. I can not quite find the extravagance that makes this beer to a Trappist, it should therefore be something particularly special? I can not find the difference between plain good brewed Belgian abbey beer / triple and this so-called Trappist.

Lekkere trappist maar vrij bitter. Wat vlakke smaak en weinig bijzondere smaken. Wel mooie donkere kleur.

The fragrance of citrus and yeast. The flavor of yeast, butter toffee and over ripe fruit. Decent bitterness which fills the upper part of the mouth for a long time. No impressed beer at all. Avoid please it. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

330ml brown bottle poured into a goblet. Appearance is hazy dark amber with a large frothy beige head that reduced quickly, leaving no lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried apricots, pears, herbs, peaches and caramel. Flavours of caramel, spices, dried peaches and apricots.Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied, soft texture and average carbonation. Zundert Trappist is flavorful and tasty.
