Each batch of Zure van Tildonk is carefully aged in the cellars of Engelburch Monastery for several months prior to release.

Gyllengul, lätt beslöjad öl med lättare vitt skum. Finns en lätt funkighet i aromen tillsammans med surdegsbröd och syrliga frukttoner. Samma återkommer i smaken.

Belgian spontanious fermentation. Real sour blueberry grape must aroma....really nice. Has mathcing flavors wit some herbal notes. Nice crisp finish, and almost no carbonation which made this a easy and fantastic drink.

375 ml bottle from Binnys South Looop (Chicago, IL). Exciting new sour find. Pours a nicely hazed golden orange hue. A decent glow, bit of darkness with lots of effervescent bubbly life in the body. Decent whitish head atop is a solid filmy layer, dies down a bit and sticks around small, mellow lacing. Aromas show some firmer lactic life, citric and yogurty with touches of cobweb and horseblanket. Mellow straw, touches of bread with subtle cheesecloth. Firmer sour fruit is another firm air of citrus, touches of green apple and pineapple juice, sour green grapes. Initial is a bit more tame, jabs of lemony sourness, white grape and a bit of honeysuckle. Melon, decent sourness jabs. Some crab apple, subtle pineapple as some acidity jabs more in the backend. White wine, bread, and straw. Touches of bread, big yogurty feel into the middle. Touches of fruit, the sourness more at bay at times with gentle jabs between fruit, some white peach, straw, some doughy and yogurty feels. Funk elements with some cobwebs, dust and gentle prickly horseblanket and earth. A bit of vanilla, gentle spice. Finish is a bit dry, some fruit, mellow funk and tartness with a weird cinnamon vibe at times in the backend and finish. Overall, the nose really offers some potent life. The beer itself is more more reeled in, a bit nuanced and certainly drinkable. But the intensity and life in the nose really falls by the wayside. A solid sour with some complexity that makes it interesting.

Bottle at Paradiso. Darrel described it as wet dog eating a wet dog biscuit. I agree.

Aroma of sour apples, brett, malt, oak. Flavour is tart fruit followed by light malty sweetness. Finish is dry. Pretty decent Sour/Wild Ale.

Bottle from dranken Pauwels. Nose: Brettanomyces, ripe fruits, some smell I recognise from Alvinne Sour collection but I can’t describe yet. Taste: sweeter than expected but also nice sourness, some brett again, some stable, slight bitterness and too much solvents. The aroma of solvents is what put me off this beer.

C&C 375 mL bottle shared by jackl at the WWGT2D2U? tasting, 5/29/14. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a thin fizzy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of tart grapes, mild peppery funk, mild horseblanket, mild stone fruit, citrus, green peppers. Tart with notes of grapes, cherries, marzipan, stone fruits. Mild vinous, even milder funk. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering tartness.

Sour, special, traditional and yet very smooth beer that almost matches the best geuzes. Barnyard and basement aroma. Smooth citrus taste. Very , very nice.
