COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zure Van Tildonk is an original Belgian Sour Ale from Farm-Brewery Hof Ten Dormaal. With this beer, the brewery strived to create a special, spontaneoussly-fermented beer via traditional methods using ambient yeast from the brewery-farm in Tildonk. Each batch of Zure van Tildonk is carefully aged in the cellars of Engelburch Monastery for several months prior to release.

Bottle from CBS. Pours a slightly cloudy golden, little bit of head, nose very funky, hot dog water & salami. Body lively and slightly tart, fluffy and crisp, tastes much better than it smells, not bad at all.

Bottled. 37.5cl sample. The aroma has citric tones, some grain, some arthy tones, hint of lactics. Bit hazy, yellow-golden coloured beer with a medium, off-white head. The taste is light sour, bit sweetish. It has about 50% lactic sourness and 50% citric sourness. Bit oak, some tart tones. Little bit more body than expected, still refreshing and easy drinking. Little unbalanced, but good.

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
The beer pours a hazy blonde with a big fluffy white head and a lot of nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is oaky and cider like, it’s certainly funky but relatively lightly so. The beer has some lemon and citrus rind brightness to it. It’s inviting for sure.

The flavor is a touch sweet up front but turns dry, it’s got a touch of earthy spiciness & a little bit of tinny character. It’s got some tart fruit, some doughiness, and a little bit of lemon peel. The sourness level is relatively low but pleasant.

Flaska på Brekeriet Bar. Smak och doft av jäst, äpple, örter, äng med vittvin karaktär. Rund och len, torr med viss syrlighet. Känsla av mjölkbakterier. Riktigt gott och uppfriskande.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 12/2017. Pours fairly crystal clear golden straw color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tart lemon, green apple, pear, white wine, hay, straw, grass, oak, light vinegar, cracker, bread, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and solid complexity of fruity/funky yeast, pale malt, and oak notes; with solid strength. Taste of tart lemon, green apple, pear, white wine, hay, straw, grass, light vinegar, cracker, bread, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/earthy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon, green apple, pear, white wine, hay, straw, grass, oak, light vinegar, cracker, bread, and light musty funk on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/funky yeast, pale malt, and oak flavors; with a nice sweetness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good unblended lambic style. All around good complexity and robustness of fruity/funky yeast, pale malt, and oak flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink with the lighter acidity. A bit lacking in complexity overall, but given the unblended style it was still adequate. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Gyllengul, lätt beslöjad öl med lättare vitt skum. Finns en lätt funkighet i aromen tillsammans med surdegsbröd och syrliga frukttoner. Samma återkommer i smaken.
