Half litre flip-top bottle, poured into pint glass. Amber colour, hazy, large foamy off white head. Retention was outstanding. Aroma was cranberry, malt and dark chocolate, really had to think of a Dubbel or Doppelbock. Tasted cranberry, malt, dark chocolate and molasses. Only drawback was that it was slightly watery. Hints of slightly smokey malt in the finish. Smooth texture, decent carbonation, slightly heavy body but it worked. Only the fact that it was slightly watery held it back from being truly outstanding.

my one was called Arber Dampfbier... smooth malty aroma with shades of apple, plum and dogrose... the taste is malty and fruity with notes of toffee and forest berries... sweet and dry aftertaste...

Tall flip-top half-liter bottle, BBD 25th Oct 14, my second bier of my German night on 25th July 14: obtained from Beers of Europe and poured into a large ’Wolnzacher Brauhaus handled jug. Bright and clear amber body with a full off-white crown on top. Yeasty and caramel nose with a taste to match, semi-sweet and malty: this is my sort of brew. I make no secret about the fact I prefer the maltier sweeter brews generally and this fits the bill perfectly for me, it’s a joy to drink. Fresh and out of a well kept barrel it must be heaven, I might have to visit Zwiesel one day.

Bottle from Rehills Newcastle. Pours dark golden colour. Lighter than you'd think - a strange mix of flavours but very nice - banana, bread, a bit peppery, a bit citrusy. A very good beer

Dark-amber coloured, medium, slightly tanned head. Malty smell, a bit nutty/melanoidinic and sweetish. Taste is malty at first, then a bit of fruits with a low bitterness. Fizzy but it needs some more body - boring finish.

Light caramel color, average co2, thin white head. Discreet banana aroma. Watery on the tongue, frizzy on the aftertaste. I fell a little bit of banana in the taste. Balanced bitterness. I should drink more ales...
