Gold-amber; totally-clear; broken white head, dissipating slowly. Cookies and fresh spring leaves in the nose, as well as some hops, honey, banana - over-ripe banana that is. Surprisingly fresh taste at the onset, whiff of hopbitterness, receding to a fuller malt sweetness. Some esters swirling around, notably banana. MF is as mineral springwater, refreshing, light texture. Aftertaste hints at laurel/bay leaf. Top-fermenting beers, outside the ubiquitous Weizen, Alt and Kölsch are rare as hens' teeth in Germany. This beer tells from an older tradition, even in Bayern. And it's even a rather nice, albeit quite sweet beer.

Jun 26, 2008 Bottle 50cl. Pours a clear filtered, amber-coloured brew with a big-bubbled head. Fizzy carbonation, refreshing, notes of wood, fruits, dark malts, tobacco, high fermentation acids. Interesting brew, worth a try.

Dec 14, 2007 Pours cold with a rocky white head that dissipates to a nice lace. Smells of bananas, cloves, some floral hints, caramel and sweet malt. Tastes of up front bananas, roses, caramel, toffee, sweet malt, hints of pepper. Mouthfeel is viscous. Finish is bold and sweet.

Sep 30, 2007 bottle. Amber colour, cloudy, large head. Malty and fruity with hints of apples, slightly hoppy as well. Has its very own character, every sip is highly interesting and enjoyable. Lovely beer, wish I had more of it.

Sep 19, 2007 On tap at Berliner Bierfestival. Clear, golden pour with an off-white head. Cellar, caramel and some fruity, pear I think, in the aroma. The flavor had caramel, some cellar, and a hint of pear. Medium body. A quite nice and fruity beer. (070803)

Sep 12, 2007 Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is hazy dark amber. Aroma is fresh with malt and hops. Taste is crisp with malt, hops and some caramel.
