2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not that great of a beer overall. Fairly large white head but didn’t have much of a taste. Kind of a bitter finish but I’d defiantly buy a different better beer over this one.

Bottle. Well...this turned out to be kind of a Polish Budweiser, but manages to actually be a little better than Bud. I’d grab a sixpack

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted in Toronto. Obtained from my local LCBO right in the heart of Roncesvalle Village (little Poland). Tasted in a dimpled mug, tasted at about 8C. Appearance is golden in colour with a sustained thin white head. Aroma is slightly sweet, with a light bitter hop finish. Even though the alcohol content is relatively low it makes itself apparent in the aroma also. Flavour is balanced, with an initial sweet malt taste which finishes with a hint of bitterness. Slightly sweet after taste.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Glassy golden bubbling color with a thick white head. Aroma is bland and rather boring. Flavor has a bit of malt sweetness to counteract the slight bit of hope bitterness in the end. Nothing too special.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear golden/yellow colour. Hoppy, grassy aroma. Slightly sweet and malty, with a mild hop-biiter finish. Quite okay. Like a Heineken with more alcohol.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Yellow, white head, with head retention. Aroma is slight corn, slight hop, and slight malt. Flavor is decently malty with a light hop finish. Not bad, but doesn’t blow me away.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: NOV 6, 2004 Bottle. Pleasant hoppy aroma, but slightly skunky. Mild bitterness. Coloring is an amber hue. Also, flavor is really thin, but the mothfeel isn’t TOO watery. The flavor is great, but I wish it had more carbonation in it. Thin head. Generic beer-not too bad, but not outstanding.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
In the bottle. Pours a boring pale yellow with only a brief suggestion of a head. Weak hop content, watery with a slight skunky flavor. No carbonation. I’ve had South American beers that were better.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2004 Since 1856, this Polish beer has been difficult to drink. Made by Heineken now, and I can feel it a little bit. Same bad aftertaste. Very light yellow lager. A little grassy as well. Not horrible for a lager, but I can really tell this is not for me. It was fairly cheap tho, so now big deal. Can I buy a vowel, Pat?
