Zywiec Brewery is the pioneer, if you didn't know, of the unique new device, the Beer Thermometer. When your bottle of Zywiec has reached the ideal level of coldness, the Zywiec logo appears in a blank box on the back label. I'd forgotten entirely about this amazing technological breakthrough, until I'd finished half the bottle and noticed that the promised logo was absent. Before that astonishing discovery, these were my thoughts... Bright yellow color, that dims after time, under a brief white head. Aromas of: very little, slightly honeyish, floral, traces of hops. Sharp carbonation greets the tongue, with a short drizzle of hops. Scant malt that just barely imparts the minor hints of sweetness. Finish is brief and unmemorable, like every other aspect of this beer...hey, what's this? So I went to the 2 bottles in my OTHER fridge, and, voila, there's the logo! I opened a new bottle to find out how much better it is at this ideal temperature. To find...it was colder, yes, but only so much that the lack of flavor, taste, or any other enjoyable characteristic was well hidden! Good job, Beer Thermometer!

Straw beer with a white head, collapses densely. Mild hops aroma with some malt. Palate is dense enough to maintain the carbonation. Quite a chunk of malt with a decent wallop of long hops coming in after. Nice summer beer in the vein of a pilsner.

This Polish beer reminded me a lot of the German Pilsners without the apertif qualities found in that style. Golden, yellow color; clean nose and a spicy flavor.

Pale golden body with a thin head of white foam fed by forced carbonation. Slightly sulfurous hop aroma is typical of mass produced European lagers. Slightly sweet malt taste is pleasant and refreshing. Mouthfeel is thin but appropriate for the style. This defines the average of the entire spectrum of beers for me.

Very light yellow beer but with good European pilsner-type white poofy, slowly dying head. A light malty aroma. This is smooth and starchy, and reminds me of a good continental beer garden ... very sweet malted beer with slight bitter tinge, but clean finish. This site is patently anti-lager; this is a decent pils in the northern German style ... definitely better than Heineken. I've had this in Poland pre-Ratebeer days, but don't remember if there's a difference in the import.

This beer pours a golden yellow with a thin mold like creamy head. The initial sniff has scents of corn and sugar cane. Maybe some honey. Strong taste of corn and quite sweet. Corn syrup??? A little hoppy, almost bitter but not quite. The finisha little watery. The palate is pretty clean, maybe because of the watery taste??? Not too bad of a beer but kind of boring.

Pale yellow color with no head at all. Eh, not much of an aroma. Some malt maybe? Kind of hard to decipher. Watered down taste. Nothing great about it except it's from Poland. Bought this 12 oz bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester, NY.
