2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Going from bar to bar in the "little Warsaw" section of Greenpoint, Brooklyn is always an adventure. Plenty of taverns. Cute polish girls. Seedy characters. And plenty of beer. This simple, light tasting lager is nothing special. Slight aroma of hops and spices. Very thin and unimpressive palate. Dry finish. Its refreshing and being that this was served to me freezer cold, I think I would enjoy this better on a hot summer's day while grilling up some kielbasa!

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2005 Poured a slightly dark golden color with a white head. Western European hop aroma with hints of DMS as well. Smooth malty taste, barely hoppy with phenols coming out at the end. Fairly simple, but nothing like the porter!

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light tan no head. Really not that bad for a lager. It is a little sweet. Not that much character but good for what I would think a Polish beer would taste like.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Medium gold in color with a moderate head and fair lacing. The aroma was malty and bready with a hint of spice. Light bodied and smooth with a fairly sweet malty flavor, lightly hopped with a hint of butterscotch. The finish was short, mild and on the sweet side. The only thing I found remarkable about this beer was the bottle itself with it's cool labels and cap. On the back there is a beer thermometer that turns pink and reads "Zywiec" when the brew reaches the ideal drinking temperature. Hmm..pretty clever I guess, but I think a bottling date would have been more practical.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Refreshing. The 1st Polish beer that I've tried (at least, that I know of). It is pale yellow/golden in color with very little head. Tastes more or less like Heineken and the like. Pretty good - I'd definitely give it another try.

Oct, 2003 Bottle. Nice. Soft, creamy, buttery. Nice soft but warm and developing hoppy bitterness. Not too sweet, not salty. Balance between light, but tasty malt, and warm, not aggressive hops, is excellent. A quality beer, lager, pilsner, call it what you will - this rocks! [3.8]
Oct, 2014 500ml brown bottle. 1995. 5.6%. Good body. Pleasant fruit. A decent drink. [3.0]

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle in USA. Very light color, very light, watered down flavor. No aftertaste. My family that has had this fresh in Poland has given it better marks, but it is more of a light lager/thirst quencher.

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
A lager that is a wee bit hoppier than the international standard. Fresh and crisp, when compared with other Polish beers...

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pale beer with a foamy head and plenty of bubbles. Light hopped aroma with a dry mild and refreshing flavour. A great refreshing beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Gotta say, I've never before seen a name with so many letters from the end of the alphabet in a row. Pours clear and yellow with a rapidly diminishing head. Aroma is malty, soapy and slightly skunky. Flavor is initially biting hoppiness giving way to malt sweetness and a dry finish. Light body and assertive carbonation. Not bad as far as Mega-brewer lagers go and definitely the best Polish beer I've had to date (the only one in fact, but we'll let that slide).
