Countbeer (1925) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2012
Can: White head disappears slow and leaves a typical light sticky pilsner lacing on top of a clear yellow golden colored beer. Smell many malts some hops and herbs.  The taste is much the same; malts, hops, bitter, older hops, some grass and herbs. Aftertaste is bitter with grass and malts. Medium carbo, light tingly mouthfeel, low to slightly medium bodied and a light watery texture.

Medium-bitter, no special palate. White foam, disappearing faster than TGV train. Weird imitation of golden colour.

500 ml bottle from Table and Vine. My friends know I’m not a fan of lagers. Just too simple and don’t offer much at all. This isn’t the worse lager I’ve ever had. Yet it proves once again, isn’t much to it. Pale malt and honey nose. Sweet yeast flavors. Dry texture. Much better than most American lagers, but how big of a compliment is that???

December 2006: a double review. This review is from a tasting carried out with both a can and bottle, I prefered the bottle greatly. This can (poured into a Veltins Pilsner glass) was very pale, a lot paler than its brother in the bottle (which was also poured into a Veltins glass). I will only mention the can now! A very pale, clean looking, typical Euro lager, as I expected. No smell, no taste, no mouthfeel and no drinkability what-so-ever. This was a big let down, I don’t like slagging off anything, let alone beers, but bloody hell. Thank goodness the bottle was better, see my other review which follows this: This is the second (or first) part of a double review, when I had side by side Zywiec’s, a can and this bottle, which the review is about. Darker than its canned mate, but still pale (both the can and bottle were poured into Veltin’s Pilsner glasses). There as an aroma from this bottled version, hops and yeast, maybe even some lemon flavours. It had a taste, clean, bright and lagery, there was body to it, the dryness stayed, it was almost a pleasant lager. I wonder if they brew in a different location for bottles and cans? This was a completely different beer to the canned one, everything was better from the bottled version!

bunget (133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 4, 2012
500ml bottle. Yellow lager body with a medium white head. Aroma is cheesy, floral, cereal, some hops, fresh. Crisp taste, cereal sweetness, hints of hops, herbal. It seemed better in 2009.

Dermi (270) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 4, 2012
50 cl, bottled. Pours clear gold with a decent white head. Aroma: Fresh malt, and mild hopping. Taste: Sweet malt mixed with alcohol. Malt, bread. Slight hopping, cherry tone. Moderate dryness. Palate: Quite light bodied. An exemplary lager, nothing special tho. Takes the thirst away.

wlajwl (1774) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - MAY 3, 2012
Aroma is grains, yeast/dough and a mild off-element. The flavor is sweet malts and not much else really. Probably would go well with spicy foods, otherwise it wasn’t really unique in any way, but it wasn’t nasty.

Pours light golden with a high head. Aroma bread, hay. Slightly metallic, but not the worst offender. A typical lager.

Rangi (106) - NEW ZEALAND - APR 26, 2012
Not a bad lager at all. Nothing brilliant but far from the worst I have ever tried. Really nice malt and hops balance as a lager should be. Very, very slightly more malty taste but nice and well balanced, enjoyable and easily drink without ending up to watery.
