2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Those Highlanders on the label make me wanna dance! Golden with a white head that falls quickly into a thin, creamy film. Roasted malt aroma leading to a sweet, roasted malt flavor, ending with a small dose of hop bitterness and a touch of tin. There are worse Polish lagers out there. This one is a big seller on Chicago’s South Side.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Average pour. Yucky sour aroma. Very sweet inital taste with a tangy finish. Decent amount of bitterness. Flavor seemed to get worse as the glass emptied.

3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from bottle, looks like a typical pilsener. Rotten vegetable aroma. But flavor turned out nice - good hop/malt balance. No problem with finish. Nice choice.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle (Feb 06). Sweet malt and spicy hops which gradually become a bit too grassy. Crisp with an almost clean finish with just a touch of fruit. Better than I expected.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pale, pale, pale. Light of body. Just a tad of a yeasty / doughy / malty, almost corn flavor in the mouth. A dryer, finishes quick & crisp, fairly refreshing old European style lager.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very middle of the road beer. In fact, this beer became progressively worse every mouthfull I took, so I had to average it. With an effort I got a nice medium sized head that disappeared faster than you could say "not another crappy so called ’premium’ lager". The initial aroma was full of hops and honey, with a touch of malt. However, it seemed to saturate the nose and became barely evident after a while. The flavour seems to have it all - sweet, salt, sour and bitter all rear their (sort of) ugly heads. The alcohol was a little too quick to separate itself in the mouth, causing the full-bodied palate to seem a bit strong. Despite the bagging I have given it, it’s not too bad a beer - just not worth the effort to finish a 500ml bottle by yourself!!

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sampled at Broudy’s Beerfest, Jacksonville, FL 9/03/05. An OK lager. Slightly sweet, a little fruitiness, and some hops. Not bad, but not my style.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Canned. A fairly typical mass produced lager, fairly refreshing and soft with a slight sweetness and little bitterness. Has the typical flat feeling of a canned lager. Average for the style.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Gold, clear, moderate head, no lace. Solid malty nose, palate is malty, a little sweet, hint of vanilla, mildly bitter hopped finish. A decent pale lager worth the little extra in price.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Good malty lager, smooth and rounded, hops noticable on the finish. I liked this, it reminded me of Tatra pils. Lloyds No1 bar,Edinburgh.
