Gromit (479) - Port Orchard, Washington, USA - FEB 28, 2004
330ml/11.2oz bottle with a cute little "beer thermometer" on the back in the form of a white rectangle that has the beer's logo appear when the bottle gets below a certain temperature. Very cool; even moreso because the beer wouldn't be very good warm, methinks. A Polish classmate found out I wrote reviews and asked me what I though of this brand so I thought I'd give it a shot. Pours a straw-yellow color with a decent white head with minimal lacing left behind. The smell is a little metalic, almost skunked smelling. Other than that it's malty-sweet smelling. Taste is pretty good; about typical for style. Actually it's very typical. Mouthfeel is a bit more full than most and very creamy. Drinkabilty is nice; I wouldn't mind having a few more of these.

Crockett (1007) - Southampton,Ontario, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 26, 2004
Pale gold with a short fizzy head. Hoppy grassy barnyard nose. Mildly bitter with some soft malty sweetness. Slight caramel and toasty cookie flavours. Has a spicey bite to it that comes out of nowhere. Crisp and Clean. Good.

Frank (2817) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 23, 2004
Golden, thin foamy head. Pungent nose--malt and some Rolling Rock funk. Slightly sticky. Moderate carbonation. Slightly sweet. Moderately spicy. Half-decent but forgettable.

hopscotch (9057) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 19, 2004
Sparkling clear, golden lager with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is of malt, lightly floral hops and a hint of honey. The flavor is fairly well-hopped, but a bit on the sweet side. Touch of honey and lemon. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Short, bitter-sweet finish.

Ungstrup (29208) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2004
A yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sour from brewing cereal, and so is the flavor. This is a really poor beer.

Man, this one is bad. Tasted at a rating session with plenty top-class beers, maybe this makes it worse than it is.....
Pale yellow like most lagers. Aroma of malt and hay. Flavor has a slight sweetness with a little malt and hops. Flad and bad!

Decent yellow/gold color with a slight pure white head. Fairly smooth with just a touch of hops. Not bad.

Trogdor (196) - Cairns, AUSTRALIA - FEB 13, 2004
floral hop nose with hints of sweet maltiness. Typical golden lager colour with nice big head and lacework, with medium carbonation. hop bitterness dominates the flavour profile, with floral hop and light maltiness with a bit of spice accompanying the alcohol that just cuts through the bitterness. the palate is dominated by a dry bitterness, ontop of a thin lager body. Not a bad example of the style, but the market's pretty well covered in segment.

Porters stick to porters, we don't need a another very mainstream lager, granted this oone is decent yet ordinary

willblake (2647) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - FEB 3, 2004
Pale golden straw color with nice soft head. Slightly herbal aroma, smells like other Euro-giant lagers. Herbal flavor as well, with bread and sweet cardboard. Taste is pleasantly inconsistent with the slightly Heineken aroma. Finish is instant upon swallowing. A pretty good beer with evanescent malt finish and brief bitterness.
