Bottle. Pours with a large, brown head over a near black body. Aroma of deep roast, alcohol, vanilla, dark fruits, light smoke and very faint esters. Taste is leather, roast, dark fruits, candi sugar, chocolate and a bit of unpleasant smoke. Some alcohol evident. Creamy carbonation.

It pours black with cocoa smoothee head. Really nice barnyardy malty tones like a doppelbock with a hint of forest mushroom under it. and fresh berry Chocolate and coffee flavors and aromas. Some roasty smoke! Dark dried fruits. Powerful warming alcohol that seduces. Dry roasty and hoppy finish. Outstanding value!

Dark and clear, with a one inch head that doesn’t lace. Burnt coffee aroma. This is some high proof stuff. Lighter than anticipated. Finishes with a clean, dry finish.

Bottle at home ... Thanks to Nightfall for this ... deep deep brown ... soft toffee roast malt nose ... soft gentle ... rich roast malt ... quite a lot of toffee ... burnt caramel ... liitle plums ... bit to much burnt sugers for me ... but tasty none the less.

Pour a very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma first of all is banana! Crazy! Then espresso and toasted + roasted malts. There’s some soft alcohol as well as oatmeal in the background. For a porter there a fair bit of sweetness (banana and caramel). Flavours are quite different, with cocoa, roasted grains (almost charred) and ash. Quite soft though. Delicate alcohol. Quite a lot of sweet caramel notes still. Thick, rich body. Great creamy carbonation. Warming alcohol on the back of the palate.

Bottle from some alcohol-shop in Krakow. Pours a black/very dark brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is roasted and malty with nice traces of chocolate. Flavour is also roasted with coffee, chocolate and liquorice. Body is medium, and the liquid is very smooth. I like it! Would love to try it again. It was very nice after a lot of premium lagers otherwise found in Poland...

Blind tasting - Wow...waaay surprised when I found out I was drinking the Zywiec. It was a nice reddish-brown pour, but the smell was nasty. Smelled of limp malt and band-aids. Band-aids! Taste was a bit of chocolate and a little malt, along with some subtle coffee. Of course, all those flavors were hidden under the intense metal flavor. It tasted like I just licked up some iron shavings. It was nice and creamy, but at that point that just meant the iron shavings were creamier. This bottle wasn’t out-of-date...did I get a bad one?
