COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zywiec Porter, pronounced "je-vi-ets", is a dark, strong beer brewed according to the traditional recipe from 1881, with the Munich malt and special malts for caramel and color plus the highest quality aromatic hops. Everything together creates a unique combination of taste. Production of this Porter was moved to Bracki Bowar in 2004 .

Pours very opaque, tan colored head that disappears faster than I expected. The aroma is dark fruits, plums, raisins, chocolate, sweet toasted malts, very inviting. The taste follows the aroma, rich sweet malts, dark fruits, licorice, anis and roasted character. No alcohol detected. This is a very smooth beer, easy to drink, the body is medium to medium high with a hint of sweet burn in the aftertaste. Very good baltic porter, I would definitely try this one again

Sweet milk chocolate aroma emerges from a puffy pour out of a half-liter bottle. The taste is quite punchy though not as sweet as the aroma suggests and definitely boozier than American porters. God bless Polish brewers!

From a 500 ml bottle shared at home. Pours an opaque cola with a tan head. Aroma and flavors of licorice and anise with some roasted coffee notes. Meidum full bodied with lots of carbonation. Roasty finish.

Pours a deep brown cola color with a roasted light malt aroma. Taste is rich of dark malt mixed with a hint of sweetness. The sweetness is a distinct caramel mixed with a burned malt. A robust porter with an easy drinking aftertaste.

0.5l bottle, courtesy of Cristobal37. Black body, light brown head. Aroma of coffee and dark fruits. Taste of coffee, floral hops, dark fruits and a touch of cocoa. Medium body, creamy texture. Very nice.

Noire d,encre, petit filet de bulle en surface. Arômes un poil faible sur le malt torréfié et le reglisse. Une fois en bouche c’est l’explosion de flaveurs café, superbe rondeur, bon equilibre...

While I still prefer a good English porter over a Baltic, this was fantastic. I really enjoyed the body and first impression. My problem with Baltic porters is that I typically get a strange finish. Not sweet or nutty, but like metal or booze. Anyway, as good as this was it still had that unsavory finish. Not my favorite style, but a good beer and one worth trying.

Pours deep brown with a finger of foamy tan head that sticks around for a few minutes. Rich roasty aromas of coffee, caramel malt and alcohol. Strong, slightly sweet flavor up front that abruptly transitions into a long burnt bitter aftertaste. As others have mentioned, this has some off-putting metallic flavors. Overall I enjoyed it, but it’s rather intense. Take your time with this one.

Bottle. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing off-white head. Pitch black body. Sweet roasted malt coffee aroma. Quite creamy and mild roasted malt coffree liquorice flavor with a low carbonation. Would never have guessed on 9.5# alcohol. For some strange reason it appeared a bit thinbodied.

0.33l bottle. Pours deep dark ruby with uber-cool beige head. Aroma of caramel, honey, roasted barley and alcohol, with metallic notes. Flavor is rather roasted than sweet, high carbonation, surprisingly watery, strong alcohol notes and IRON, as if I was drinking blood. Not very pleasant aftertaste - bitter, roasty and alcoholic. I remember when I had it draught at it’s home in Żywiec - it was definitely much more enjoyable.
