Zywiec Porter, pronounced "je-vi-ets", is a dark, strong beer brewed according to the traditional recipe from 1881, with the Munich malt and special malts for caramel and color plus the highest quality aromatic hops. Everything together creates a unique combination of taste. Production of this Porter was moved to Bracki Bowar in 2004 .

500ml bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a dark cola color, revealing hints of ruby-red translucence when held up to a light. A two-finger mocha head is formed with a beautiful creaminess and very strong retention. As it slowly recedes, it leaves behind large sheets of lacing down the glass. S: Itís very forward in dark fruits, chocolate, and molasses. Distant notes of roast, coffee, and mild hops are hidden behind the sweet maltiness. My only real problem is how mild the aroma is - which is a shame, because itís good otherwise. T: Sweetness opens the flavor profile strongly, with strong caramel, dark fruit, and chocolate qualities. This will transition to a very roasty, mildly hoppy finish. Hints of earth and booze pop up on the back end, as well. While itís a bit boozy, it doesnít really hinder its drinkability, thanks to the mildness of flavor. It even has a bit of depth to it. The booze note gets stronger as it warms up, so drink cold. M: A bit on the thin side, with a typical crisp lager bite on the finish and strong carbonation. Itís almost as if this is designed for drinkability over richness; in regards to the former, itís pretty successful. O: This is a very dangerous brew. Itís inexpensive and drinkable, with only mild hints to suggest its actual strength. While not fantastic, itís a great way to get drunk on the cheap(ish) - I know Iíd much rather drink this over some crappy Euro malt liquor.

Piwo czarne z brązowymi reflekami, nieprzejrzyste. Piana drobnopęcherzykowa i średniopęcherzykowa, beżowa, oblepiająca szkło. W aromacie czekolada, toffie. W smaku kawa, czekolada gorzka.

Bottle. Dark brown with slight reddish tint, large spongy beige head, coffee aroma, high carbonation, caramel-coffee taste, long burnt finish. Not bad.

Zywiec Porter has a fairly thick, foamy, beige head, a dark brown appearance, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of dark-roasted, but not burnt, malt and coffee, and the flavor is of the same, with sweetness, chocolate, chicory, coffee, and a trace of hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy and velvety, and Zywiec Porter finishes semi-dry and very drinkable for such a high-alcohol beer. RJT

Bottle, 0.50l, courtesy of Marcin, shared with colleagues. Cloudy dark brown color with small creamy light brown head and fair lacing. Aroma of mild roasted malt, caramel and alcohol. Taste starts by light sweet caramel and roasted malt, follows by dark fruits acidity, well hidden alcohol with warming mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Full body, sticky texture and average carbonation in palate. Incredibly drinkable for such a high ABV...

Good looking beer, rich, smooth palate. Alcohol is completely hidden behind the malty, treacle, toffee flavours. Good bitter-sweet balance. Dangerously drinkable at 9.5 %
