Very dark colored. Roasted malt aroma with coffee, peardrups and raisin. Full bodied. Malty flavor, in fact with loads of roasted malt. Raisin. Coffee bitterness. Warming alcohol that bangs your head after a 15 hours working day. Whoahhh, abundant with flavors. Great beer. My thanks go out to Dortmunderfor this bottle.

Bottled: This is probably one of the beers I’ve been looking for for the longest time. Burgundy coloured. LIght brown dense and impressing head. Long lasting. Aroma is malty, sweet and very light smoked. I’m not overly impressed by the aroma. Flavour on the other hand is quite impressive. Sweetness, liqourice, coffee and a nice hoppiness laying on a perfect maltbase. The alcahol is very well hidden. If I should critic this beer, I miss a little roastyness in the flaovur, but its still an subtle and complex beer. It all ends up in a remarkable bitterness and a very nice alcaholburnt. LIke others stated. This is a perfect winterbeer.

Bottle. Poured a black color with a moderate light brown head that was lasting. Good roasted coffe and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture. Well balanced sweet roasted malt flavor with a small alcohol bite at the finish. Very good porter.

Test vom 3.5.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,11,11,13,13,12

Keg (yes keg), 500ml, at U Kakpra, Krakow. Dark brown to black with tan head. Big heavy beer, lots of fruit initially, then into a tarry, alohol, liquorice experience. There is always an underlying sweetness, I suppose this comes with the territory. Quite nasal in the close. Decent beer.

Nice moka head which collapses but maintains, leaving a lace behind. Nose of licorice and chocolate. Locrice and moka coffee in the mouth, with some residual sugar, rich mouthfeel with malt bitterness at the end. Wish they still had it (or the Okocim) at the LCBO. Thanks to CapFlu!

very dark brown colour, fine creamy and slightly brown-tainted head, beautiful lacing, some chocolate and candy sugar, licorice and alcohol, full-bodied, very bitter, roasted bitter chocolate finish with quite strong alcohol notes - powerful and very good though the aroma is a bit weak in comparison with the rest

Bottle... Clear, almost-black lager with a burnt orange tint and a small, creamy, beige head. Excellent retention. The vinous aroma is of port, caramel and dark fruit. Lots of roasted, vinous, moderately bitter notes in the flavor. Also, lightly sweet and mildly tangy; a blend of Riesling and dry red wine. Full-bodied with a 2%-milk mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Burnt, bitter, abrasive finish. The malts, hops, esters, etc. don’t really blend well for me. Not my thing, but thanks goes out to growler for giving me the bottle!

Very dark, tan head. Aroma of burnt coffee. Taste of choclate and raisins, slight bitter finish. Interesting.
