Zywiec Porter, pronounced "je-vi-ets", is a dark, strong beer brewed according to the traditional recipe from 1881, with the Munich malt and special malts for caramel and color plus the highest quality aromatic hops. Everything together creates a unique combination of taste. Production of this Porter was moved to Bracki Bowar in 2004 .

Keg (yes keg), 500ml, at U Kakpra, Krakow. Dark brown to black with tan head. Big heavy beer, lots of fruit initially, then into a tarry, alohol, liquorice experience. There is always an underlying sweetness, I suppose this comes with the territory. Quite nasal in the close. Decent beer.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2014 500ml bottle gift from Tranquility - Thanks, thanks, thanks!
Jet black, espresso head. Aroma heavy and sweet - a berry, perhaps raspberry or strawberry, but in no way light, hints of mocha coffee. Hugely roasted malty taste - burnt on the tongue, but also fairly sweet, a wicked treacly combination, with a tempting tang of both coffee and ginger. Lovely long burnt finish. For something which had the potential to be so brutal this is very sophisticated with no annoying sharp peaks at all. Definitely succulent. And the 9.5% is completely hidden - marvelous! This does compete with Koff porter - wow!
Rerate of 330ml bottle (6-5-7-3-13=3.4) also shared by Tranquility - thanks!
Sticky sweet in all aspects, but with enough burnt malt to make that forgivable. Alcohol breaks through, which detracts slightly from the taste, this would be fantastic, and could possibly compete with Koff Porter, if it was 7%

Plumb raisin aroma, some tomato later, alas. Black, persistent tight tan head. Beautiful toffee taste, definitely aged, but succulently sweet and smooth. Very pleasant roast, no harshness because of the sweetness which mellows it lovely. Good one still!

500 ml bottle poured a clear dark brown with a lasting tan head. Aeomas of plum, raisin, dark chocolate, licorice and a hint of vanilla. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of dark fruit, dark chocolate, roasted malt, licorice and light vanilla with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Bottle. [thank you faroeviking]. Pours reddish black with a small, slightly lacing brown head. Aroma is sweet and malty, chocolate, some cinnamon. Generally quite low carbonation. Very full mouthfeel with slightly prickly bubbles. Flavour begins of sweet and malty. Then a heavy presence of alcohol along with roasted malts, dark chocolate and a touch of mocha-dark coffee. Flavour lingers a long time after swallowing, carried by the heavy (though not too powerful) alcohol presence.

Nice moka head which collapses but maintains, leaving a lace behind. Nose of licorice and chocolate. Locrice and moka coffee in the mouth, with some residual sugar, rich mouthfeel with malt bitterness at the end. Wish they still had it (or the Okocim) at the LCBO. Thanks to CapFlu!

Very dark colored. Roasted malt aroma with coffee, peardrups and raisin. Full bodied. Malty flavor, in fact with loads of roasted malt. Raisin. Coffee bitterness. Warming alcohol that bangs your head after a 15 hours working day. Whoahhh, abundant with flavors. Great beer. My thanks go out to Dortmunderfor this bottle.

Bottle at Dean’s sticky floor tasting. Dark Brown color with a deep dark red glow coming through. Smell dark malts, roasted malts, dark chocolate and mocha. Taste dark and roasted malts, chocolate and bitter. Medium to full body and a decent carbonation. Very nice actually.
