3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
In Krakow, bottle. Tastes tart, bit of liquorice, ’ethanoly’ taste, bitteress that ’sticks’ to and dries top of mouth, smell of dates. Not a good porter on the whole - sharp, unbalanced, drying. Flavour profile is decent though.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Noire d,encre, petit filet de bulle en surface.
Arômes un poil faible sur le malt torréfié et le reglisse.
Une fois en bouche c’est l’explosion de flaveurs café, superbe rondeur, bon equilibre...

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
While I still prefer a good English porter over a Baltic, this was fantastic. I really enjoyed the body and first impression. My problem with Baltic porters is that I typically get a strange finish. Not sweet or nutty, but like metal or booze. Anyway, as good as this was it still had that unsavory finish. Not my favorite style, but a good beer and one worth trying.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours deep brown with a finger of foamy tan head that sticks around for a few minutes. Rich roasty aromas of coffee, caramel malt and alcohol. Strong, slightly sweet flavor up front that abruptly transitions into a long burnt bitter aftertaste. As others have mentioned, this has some off-putting metallic flavors. Overall I enjoyed it, but it’s rather intense. Take your time with this one.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing off-white head. Pitch black body. Sweet roasted malt coffee aroma. Quite creamy and mild roasted malt coffree liquorice flavor with a low carbonation. Would never have guessed on 9.5# alcohol. For some strange reason it appeared a bit thinbodied.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
0.33l bottle. Pours deep dark ruby with uber-cool beige head. Aroma of caramel, honey, roasted barley and alcohol, with metallic notes. Flavor is rather roasted than sweet, high carbonation, surprisingly watery, strong alcohol notes and IRON, as if I was drinking blood. Not very pleasant aftertaste - bitter, roasty and alcoholic. I remember when I had it draught at it’s home in Żywiec - it was definitely much more enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Bevmo. Best before date: 3/29/14. It pours dark brown with a large frothy tan head. The aroma is a bit soapy with a touch of acidic roasted malts. Mild cocoa. The flavor is very strong with alcohol.. bitter, roasted with mild notes of bread and plastic. A little rough around the edges. It’s a powerful beer that seems to embrace it’s strength rather than try to subdue it. It has a phenolic, plastic, bitter, burnt, dark chocolaty finish. I thought I would like this one, but it was a disappointment.
