Strong yeasty and coffee aroma, burnt caramel flavours with a bitter lingering aftertaste. I like it a lot!

Kirkas, colanvärinen olut ei vaahtoa juurikaan. Tuoksu paahteinen, hieman suklainen. Maku paahteinen, makea ja loppupuolelta hieman katkerammin humaloitu ja kahvinen. Keskitäyteläinen, nautittava portteri.

Chocolate and smoke from this dark brown offering. Malt forward with more cocoa and roasted coffee.

500 mL bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour is a medium black with a light tan colored head and a good bit of lace as it falls. The aroma is quite rosty and chocolatey. There is a bitterness to it, but it’s not too bad for what I was expecting. It’s a pretty nice balance for a foreign porter. The flavor is really dry. There is a nice roast and a great chocolate presence. The dryness is a little bit of a hit, as well as the milkiness present. The roast and chocolate offer a good backbone, but it’s just a hint too dry. The mouth feel is lighter and good with a softer carbonation and a lingeringly dry and roasty chocolate finish. Not too bad. This is a little bit of a surprise in a good sense.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, dick. For the book. Aroma is sweet malt, chocolate, slight coffee, decent. Appearance is dark brown, light tan head, poured thin. Taste is sweet, roasted malt, dry, slight chocolate, eh. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, sweet malt and booze aftertaste. Overall, eh.

Bottle @ home, from carrefour Gdansk. Pour is almost black with a lasting mocca head. Dry, roasted aroma with a lot of licorice. Also mild chocolate, raisins, toffee and maltiness. Smooth texture, medium to big body. Taste is medium sweet with licorice, toffee, raisins, plums, roasted malt and some chocolate. Good complexity. Drier but sweet finish, low balancing bitterness with a nice coffee like character.

Pours dark brown with big light brown head. Strong sweet and complex aroma of dark bread crust, coffee, cooked bread, prunes, raisins, toffee, caramel, butter. Tastes sweet with some roasty acidity and bitterness, crispy bitter aftertaste. Full body, medium carb, velvetty and somewhat sticky, prominent alco warmness goes fairly well with the sweetness and roastiness. A true winter warmer!

Nearly no aroma, only faint trace of coffee, alcohol and noticeable smell of iron. Pours black with some ruby highlight. Big tan head leaves pretty lacing. It’s only medium bodied, dry, roasty and significantly alcoholic (upleasant moonshine notes), without any sweetness. Leaves stingy feeling from alcohol and medium to high carbonization. Definitely not enough aroma and body that could hide alcohol.

Bottle from a shop in Gdansk Old Town. Black with barely a hint of brown. Head substantial, moccha colour, retention good and lace rather thick. Aroma of salty-ish licorice, roast, malts, dark chocolate. Tastes very malty, roasty, licoricey salty, cocoa and cocoa powder... nearly no bitterness, not sweet, but sourish, black rye bread crust and kinda cranberry-like sourness. Pleasant in the mouth in every way. Enjoyably lingering warm slightly bitter roasty finish...

Surprise-surprise, the most pleasant BP of the day is a Heineken...

Lane @Opener Niestety, rozczarowanie. Ciechana PS. Widząc dużo pozytywnych opini, myslę sobie, że może trafilem na marną warkę, może warto kiedyś jeszcze do tego piwa podejść
