COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zywiec Porter, pronounced "je-vi-ets", is a dark, strong beer brewed according to the traditional recipe from 1881, with the Munich malt and special malts for caramel and color plus the highest quality aromatic hops. Everything together creates a unique combination of taste. Production of this Porter was moved to Bracki Bowar in 2004 .

Wow! Very full bodied porter. Tons of flavor. Chocolate at first, going to malt, with a coffee aftertaste. High AC+large container makes this a fantastic beer to drink by itself.

Zywiec Porter has a fairly thick, foamy, beige head, a dark brown appearance, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of dark-roasted, but not burnt, malt and coffee, and the flavor is of the same, with sweetness, chocolate, chicory, coffee, and a trace of hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy and velvety, and Zywiec Porter finishes semi-dry and very drinkable for such a high-alcohol beer. RJT

Excellent. This is a porter? I kept thinking full-blown stout. Color is extremely dark. with an aroma that invites you to take that first sip. Taste is outstanding. Coffee, molasses, and a tartness that I canít quite describe. The 9+% abv gets you going pretty quick. This would be a fine, sitting by the fire on a cold night type of beer. I paired it up with a medium-rare New York strip steak hot off the grill. I would recommend this beer highly.

Ok last beer of the night ..bought this in then11.2 oz brown bottle..nice label with two Poles , male and female in the traditional costume...says same recipe since 1881. Good pour..nice deep dark brown almost black ( this looks like a stout)..small head which lingers long,. ahhhhhh i love the aroma of this beer very very malty sweet fruity berry scents assault my nasal passages..great This beer has a great creamy taste ..lots of flavours up front i get coconut then sweet chocolate..black coffee..hoppy bitterness at the end. Feels good on the tongue very smooth drinkable for a beere this damned strong..cant really feel the alcohol until it reaches the belly then it's a delicious warmth..this is truelly a great beer, nice just before retiring to a crisp clean and warm bed. Never knew a Polish beer would be so great!

Another legend to taste. Got this from Pitfields as well. What a shop! You could go crazy in there, but that would be after bankruptcy. Chocolate and liquorice nose is complemented by a delicious looking opaque black. The head is spare but it sure sticks to the glass on the way down. A huge beer with solid warming characteristics. How they brew such an amazing beer compared to the average lager is beyond me. The final marvellous thing about this beer is that I enjoyed it with myself.

Poured a black color, with some red around the edges, with a medium sized, creamy, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla beans, and light caramel malt. Taste of smoked malt, chocolate, roast, and oak. Finishes with dry fruits, and no alcohol at all. Awesome.

Coffe, plum, caramel, roastiness, delicate warming alcohol and clear profile (in comparison to other BPís) are the factors why I like Zywiec Porter so much.

Zywiec is a great example of the Baltic Porter! Itís not a Stout, itís not a Dark Euro Lager, it is not an Oatmeal Stout, it is not a Schwarzbier. It is a dark, rich, slightly sweet but malty, and pleasantly strong piwo. Not too much coffee notes..not dry, not syrupy or cloying. The ABV is not boosted by cheap sugars/ The ABV (9.5%) is well hidden. No wonder it is not sold in a 6-pack.. Great winter warmer for cold nights. Great dessert beer! AND..it is not expensive. $1.79 a bottle(!) USA for a real beer! Zywiec got a winner here!
