Zywiec Porter, pronounced "je-vi-ets", is a dark, strong beer brewed according to the traditional recipe from 1881, with the Munich malt and special malts for caramel and color plus the highest quality aromatic hops. Everything together creates a unique combination of taste. Production of this Porter was moved to Bracki Bowar in 2004 .

A pitch black beer with a huge chocolate brown head. The aroma is of coffee, chocolate, alcohol, blueberries and roasted malt. The flavor is great, roasted malt, lots of bitter chocolate, coffee, toffee, raisins, prunes, plums, slight notes of smoke, and hints of the alcohol on the palate and in the aftertaste where it blends well with the bitter notes from the roasted malt. A great beer.

Very dark ruby, almost opaque. Good creamy expresso head. Aroma has licorice, dark choclate, molasses, wood. Full-bodied, smooth and sweetish palate: licorice, roasted coffee beans. Warming a bit alcoholic long finish, which brings some bitterish tones. Polish masterpiece!

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2008 (Bottled, BBE 01/2008, rated 01/27/2008) Very dark brown with a smallish, tanned, lightly lacy and long-lasting head. Roasted, licoricey-malty and very seaweed-salty aroma. Milky-malty, conservatively roasty flavor with salty licorice, smoky hints, and some syrupy malt sweetness in the finish. Alcohol is completely hidden. Medium to full-bodied, somewhat carbonated, but silky-smooth palate leaves some syrup on the lips. The aroma is not quite as nice as last time, but the flavor still delivers. A delicious, perfectly balanced, complex, and easily drinkable Baltic Porter. A beer as balanced as Fuller’s London Porter - but with almost twice its ABV - deserves some serious recognition! (Bottled, BBE 08/2004, rated 11/14/2004, was 9-5-9-5-18=4.6) Very dark, beautiful deep reddish brown color with a quite tight, beige head. Very roasted-malty aroma with toffee, licorice, some coffee and warm alcohol, seawatery-salty - very pleasant and complex. Extremely roasted-malty, slightly smoked flavor with a licorice/anise feel. Very long, bitter, sticky and salty finish. Alcohol is perfectly hidden, but warming. Quite full-bodied, very smooth and quite thick palate with well-balanced carbonation. It’s hard to imagine a better, more balanced porter than this. Quite a bit sweeter than Sinebrychoff, but it suits the style and ABV perfectly! Big thanks to tbone_ for this beauty!:)

Chocolate, dark fruit strong aroma with notes of alcohol. Dark amber-brown with thin, tan head that lasts nicely. Sweet chocolate and marzipan, balances roasty bitterness perfectly. Thick, rich, velvety, luxurious - a pleasure in the mouth. Bottle enjoyed with DYCSoccer17, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Omhper and Rastacouere.

Awesome porter, full mouthfeel, not very thick like a Russian.Black, nice head, fresh bottle. Coffee, chocolate, roasted fabulously, cocoa and a tad grainyness. Low in yeast and carbonation. Somewhat bitter towards finish then malty aftertaste. Satisfying by itself, without food.

(Bottle BB 15/06/06) Aroma of roasted malty, coffee and light alcohol. Black colour and light brown, small size, rapidly almost fully diminishing head with fair lacing. Heavily roasted malty (almost burned), moderately bitter, licorice, coffee and fruity flavour. Softly carbonated, dry and light alcoholic (warming) palate. This is very delicious beer, which is a perfect late night drink! 13/05/06

UPDATED: SEP 26, 2006 500 oz bottle via slob(thanks!). Pours a black color with a mohageny tint.. Aroma of toasted vanilla, cherries, chocolate and plums. Wow, this is good. An complex. Vanilla, toffee, roasted chocolate and coffee with a wonderful roasted coffee finish. Bittersweet licorice aftertaste. The roasted malts play off and counterbalance the sweetness perfectly. Full bodied. Now this is what a truely great BALTIC porter should taste like.

500ml bottle to glass. Pours deep red/brown/pepsi/black. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, heaven and pixy dust with a hint of tears from God Himself. Taste is initially sweet, rounded off by a roasted dark chocolate/caramel/blackberry/smokey/cherry/crazy finish. Alcohol is present, which in this case, is a good thing. It helps magnify the many virtues of this amazing beer. It drinks equally well on a hot July night or in the dead of winter. Possibly the perfect porter. Oh yeah, AND it f*cks you up fast! Best bang for your buck in the world! Thanks Poland!!
