4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a nice, smooth, but very flavourful Polish porter. It is black red with a fairly loarge, very long-lasting light brown head leaving very nice lace. The aroma is chocolatye, coffee, wine, prunes, and brown sugar. The taste is rich, with a lot of strong, complex flavours, but it is very smooth and blends very niely. It has a rich prune-chocolate-wine-burnt sugar character with lements of licorice, black pepper, and coffee. It’s smooth and a little oily but less than one might expect for this richness. It has a warmth to it, but the high alcohol is not notcieable at all except in the silky body and warm sweetness.

500ml bottle to glass. Pours deep red/brown/pepsi/black. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, heaven and pixy dust with a hint of tears from God Himself. Taste is initially sweet, rounded off by a roasted dark chocolate/caramel/blackberry/smokey/cherry/crazy finish. Alcohol is present, which in this case, is a good thing. It helps magnify the many virtues of this amazing beer. It drinks equally well on a hot July night or in the dead of winter. Possibly the perfect porter. Oh yeah, AND it f*cks you up fast! Best bang for your buck in the world! Thanks Poland!!

Now here we have a remarkable beer. Abundance of character. all of the clasic baltic porter hallmarks coupled with individualistics such as roastiness, darker grains and perhaps a special yeastoid. Poured with a tan head, lots of lace and pitch black color. Opaque. perfect balance between bitter and sweet, with enough body to compliment the works. Bravo. almost robust enough to be too much of a beer for the session lablel. tough it out bro.

Black, opaque with a dense, light brown, reddish head. The aroma is dominated by malt and licorice. Lots of dark dried fruit flavors and sweet malt mix with a fairly aggressive hop bitterness - these begin to balance more as the beer warms up. While the alcohol is significant (at 9.5 abv) it is only noticed as a warming presence after swallowing. This is a perfect example of a classic Baltic Porter.

Sad to think I’ve never rated this beer, but looking through my notes, its something I need to do. Pitch black coloured body with a lighter brown body when held up to a light with some ruby tints, all with a two centimetre tall tan head - looks great, of course. Aroma of roasted malt, raisins, nuts, earth, caramel, toffee and a lot of alcohol - some anise as well. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasty flavours up front with quite a bit of coffee and chocolate noticeable, a hint of milk and lactic notes, some light toffee and a lot of alcohol warmth and good earthy maltiness. Aftertaste shows a great complexity of all aformentioned flavours with some good alcohol, earth and toffee noticeable. Overall, quite simply, the best beer for this style - this is the beer that all Baltic porters should be measured. Drink this immediately if you haven’t, and if you live stateside, buy it as much as possible, given that it’s relatively cheap and a great beer. I sampled this beer many times, but the most memorable was on draught in Zywiec, Poland on vacation.

A mild sweet raisin and dried fruit aroma with mild roast malt. Dark brown, almost black, thin white head. Sweet raisin very balanced with malt bitterness taste and some charcoal. Palate is filling and fizzy. Overall, wow! This was a very good Baltic porter!
