Bottle. Dark, almost opaque black with a thick foamy off-white head. Dark roasted malts, dark fruit, chocolate. All the hallmarks of a good Baltic Porter. Mouthfeel is a bit oily, body is not overly heavy or syrupy. Great balance and complexity make this one a "Wow". I would buy again.

Pours a dark mahogany black color with a small dissipating head. Nose is roasted malt and black licorice. Taste is roasted coffee, nutty, and light chocolate. Very drinkable stout, finish is sweet and dry, alcohol well masked, with some mild lingering.

Solidny porter o wyrazistym smaku suszonych śliwek. Ładna, kremowa, choć nietrwała piana. Irytująca, mocno wyczuwalna nuta żelaza.

Bottled at restaurant, Warsaw. Best Polish beer I´ve had! A porter with a dry palate, chocolate and a bit of coffee aroma, and well hidden alcohol. Hard to believe it has 9,5% ABV. Nice dark beige head. A perfect companion with sturdy dishes as well as seafood from Poland.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2013 Dark brown with small beige head. Light aroma of licorice and chocolate. Taste is better, full of caramel and chocolate notes. Nutty background. After a few sips appears some metallic. Despite of high ABV, it?s well hidden. Too high carbonation. Generally, very good baltic porter.

Bottle. I picked this up at a shady nightshop with a nice beer selection. Funny thing about this bottles was the bbd.. September 10, 2012..Wow.. I should sue them for that. Anyway, high abv beer so I don’t care that much. It pours a rich dark brown beer with a nice, big beige head on top. Aroma is full of licorice and malts. Flavour is quite sweet and sticky. Really malty and roasty flavor to it. This must be the best Polish beers I’ve had thusfar, very nice, full bodied beer. Great to sip, alchohol is fairly well hidden. Very nice!

Black colour, slight beige head. Aroma of caramel, coffee and nuts. Caramel flavour, walnut, light metallic touch. Finish caramel, roasted malts and nuts.
Pleasant surprise. Very decent porter.

Bottle @ ZZT7. Pitch black with a small beige head. Smells chocolate, dark malts, sweetish, nice. Tastes lots of iron, chocolate, roasty, dark malts. Medium body, soft carbo. Nice aftertaste.

This pours red-brown, but is opaque black in the glass. This porter has a great head on it’s shoulders with pretty decent lacing. Roasted malts, notes of honey, hay, and some distant chocolate sum up the nose on this one. Deep espresso and roasted malts are subdued by extremely subtle hops, some sweetness, and a heavy alcohol finish. You can taste every bit of that 9.5% ABV for sure! My inner "beer snob" comdemns this. But, my manliness is inflated. I feel like this is putting hair on my chest, and I should be accompanied by some vikings or something. There’s a lingering espresso-malt thing happening in my mouth that I really can’t complain about. There’s a medium amount of carbonation (medium to high for a porter), with medium weight. If not for the heavy alcohol finish, I’d say the tongue weight makes this more drinkable than most fine porters. Overall, this is a porter for men that want to drink like manly men. It isn’t notably complex, and I wouldn’t consider it to be among the best I’ve tasted. As I often say about beers in this category, (out of respect for beers in ANY category): I "wouldn’t kick this one out of bed". It’s tasty, cheap, and unassuming. Although, I prefer sophisticated, intelligent, beautiful women- I can enjoy the "tasty-cheap-unassuming" type on occasion. If there are better porters on tap or in the store- by all means: buy them. However, if you’re on a budget, and nothing else is up your alley- do not be ashamed to give Zywiec Porter a try.

Zywiec Porter is decent porter that goes well with Polish food. Pours very dark black with a tan head. Not much aroma. Taste is very chocolatey - not much of the other notes you would expect in a porter. Clean but chocolatey aftertaste. Higher alcohol is hardly noticeable (until you finish.) Zywiec Porter is a hardy beer to go with hardy food.
