Zywiec Porter, pronounced "je-vi-ets", is a dark, strong beer brewed according to the traditional recipe from 1881, with the Munich malt and special malts for caramel and color plus the highest quality aromatic hops. Everything together creates a unique combination of taste. Production of this Porter was moved to Bracki Bowar in 2004 .

Bottle. Dark, almost opaque black with a thick foamy off-white head. Dark roasted malts, dark fruit, chocolate. All the hallmarks of a good Baltic Porter. Mouthfeel is a bit oily, body is not overly heavy or syrupy. Great balance and complexity make this one a "Wow". I would buy again.

Transfer from BA review on 3-9-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a deep dark brown color nearing black. Upon pouring there is a two finger tan foam on the top of the brew. The head fades slowly over time to leave a decent level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is heaviest of roasted malt, with notes of coffee and cocoa mixed within. Some sweeter aromas of caramel and dark fruit aromas of fig and plum accompanying the more roasted nose flavors. With these smells there is also a faint grassy/herbal and alcohol smell Taste – The taste begins with a drier coffee and roasted malt flavor up front. A cocoa flavor soon joins these with the other two flavors becoming even more pronounced on the tongue. Hints of sweetness begin peeking into the taste beginning with some caramel and vanilla and later becoming more dark fruit in nature. The beer never gets too sweet however with it maintaining a higher proportion of roast/dark to sweet. Toward the end the booziness of the brew comes to light with an alcohol flavor developing in the taste. Along with the alcohol flavor comes notes of a bitter grassy and slightly biting coffee bitterness that when combined with the rest of the flavors leaves a rather roasted and bitter flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the medium side with a carbonation level that was quite average overall. Overall – A pretty good Baltic porter with some nice roasted and more bitter notes.

Cocoa and raisins aroma, quite pronounced. Mahogany, thick tan head. Prune and raisin flavor, minor notes of cocoa and charred oak underneath. Plum and charcoal finish. Full body. Deeply layered and robust porter. Really better with a little warmth. Top drawer.

Pours black, almost opaque with ruby reflexes. Very nice light beige tall head, reducing to a long lasting layer, leaving some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste of coffee, licorice. Pretty sweet, but thankfully bitterness is high. Leaves a long bitter and a bit sour aftertaste. Medium carbonation, maybe a bit too high and pleasant mouthfeel, it’s not too sticky. Very good baltic porter.

Bottle @ Whole Foods, Sarasota, FL. Smells really good. Looks great. Taste is a bit too much coffee for me. Left a smidgen of bitter aftertaste. Not the best Baltic Porter i’ve had, but it is only the 2nd one i’ve tried.
