For the 11th time, Blue Palms BrewHouse is organizing a loosely structured double-blind tasting of beers within a set theme-- this time, "East of the Mississippi". The idea is that this is a way to strip away any pretensions and preconceptions about specific beers you are drinking, and to challenge and educate your palate about the flavors and aromas you experience. This 11th party will be the final warm-up before our giant Brown Bag Anniversary Party on Saturday, June 26th.

Starting at 6 PM on Wednesday, May 12th, we will do a "Brown Bag" tasting of various beers in small pours, and you can evaluate, rate, savor, and compare the beers to one another as part of the tasting. Price of admission? Just a bottle or two of beer that you bring in for the occasion. Any beer of your choice, as long as it was brewed East of the Mississippi River. This loose requirement obviously opens up a huge array of styles and beers, including all of the offerings from breweries like Bell’s, Three Floyds, Victory, Dogfish Head, Brooklyn, Southern Tier, Cigar City, and any number of other local and regional craft brewers. Even Belgium and all of Europe is technically "East of the Mississippi," if you want to push it. . . If it’s a 12-ounce bottle or can, please bring two (if possible-- if you only have one, just bring the one). Come join in on the fun and challenge yourself!
